  1. And if you want a Champion Winch, look in the for sale
  2. Ah right, well how strange. Maybe another wire's come adrift, I'll have to investigate later. Thanks anyway!
  3. Much appreciated! I'll have a look after work tomorrow and hope it doesnt fry something
  4. Thanks, thats a great help. However, any ideas where it goes after the battery box, i.e, which terminal?! I'm guessing that as its part of the VSR it may well be this wire that is stopping my engine turning over and starting
  5. Hi, I have a slight problem with the under bonnet electrics on my 200tdi 90. Everything worked fine until I was sorting out some under bonnet routing, now the engine wont start. Everything works as it should (lights, glow plugs etc), just the engine wont start. I'm thinking that the starter solenoid isnt getting powered up. I have discovered the end of a wire dangling freely. (I'm hazarding a guess that this may go to the starter solenoid) The wire is brown with a black trace, and about 1mm diameter. One end of the wire plugs into a small 3 pin connector located in the engine bay, against the bulkhead, between the turbo and the heater. Only this wire plugs onto this connector, the others are blanked off. Could someone with a 200tdi be kind enough to trace where the wire from this connector goes? I have looked on the wiring diagram, but can only see one brown/black wire, that goes from the auxillary snap connector to a join in the glow plug wires.... Thanks
  6. The +5" shocks are approximatly 11" travel. A standard landy shock has about 8.5" travel Most +2" shocks offer about 9" travel, the +2" refers to the body length. The +5" shocks offer about 2.5" more travel, and have a 2.5" longer body. I think its mostly a marketing ploy, because how many people would go and buy new shocks if instead on being called +2", they were only called +0.5" I think not many...
  7. Have you looked at the new Terrafirma +5" travel shocks yet?! Gwyn Lewis will be stocking them shortly I beleive. When I was last at Gwyn's, we had a long chat, and lined up the Pro Comp, Rough Country, Terrafirma and OME side by side. This gave a direct comparison between the shocks. Pro Comp and Rough Country shocks had thinner bodies and smaller piston rods, and looked 'lighter duty'/ We also pushed all 4 shocks down, and released them to see what their rebound damping was like. The Rough Country's returned to full extension very quickly, almost like a spring, showing they have little damping. The Pro Comps were not far behind. However, both the Terrafirma and the OME took at least 3 times as long to extend, meaning their damping was much greater, which has been shown by many peoples opinions of OME shocks. I have also been in a vehicle that had Pro Comps fitted, and another vehicle that had Rough Country fitted, and both were very bouncy! If your wealthy, go OME. If you cant stretch that far, go Terrafirma If you cant quite afford £55 per shock for Terrafirma, save your money until you can IMHO the Pro comp and Rough Country arnt worth it for only £10 less per shock.
  8. Hi, Please does anyone have the part no for the following part? Its a 200 tdi 90, the part is the airbox to turbo hose. Thanks
  9. Heres a website for the place in Mid Wales, Geraint Jones is the owner, ex Enduro Champ. http://www.yamaha-offroad-experience.co.uk/ 01686 413324 HTH Sam
  10. You need to check whether its all off roading on private land (thats fine) or on public roads and tracks (in which case you'll need a full bike test to be legal). A CBT wont really give you much more experience than you've already got. Try and get a friend to give you a go on there bike. I can recommend a good off road school, but its in Mid Wales so a long long way. Do you know what bikes you'll be riding, and the type of terrain? I'm guessing a big single cylinder from Honda, Suzuki, KTM or BMW. Bikes are heavy, especially when laden with kit. You'll need a reasonable level of fitness, have you ever been mountain biking? (This helps with fitness and bike control greatly). If you cant manage it, I'll happily have a go for you
  11. I've just bought a hard top roof for my 90. The question is, will it fit inside a mates disco 1 when we go to get it, or will I need a trailer?! Surely someone must have done this before! Thanks
  12. I'm fairly sure southdown sell it. They had some listed on ebay recently.
  13. I'll second that, I got offered a tennar for a diesel pug 205 from the scrap man. I kept it!
