i have just striped my rear tub back.. you will be absolutely fine just taking those corner bits off. Its all spot welded anyway as mentioned wont move anywhere. thanks

yeah i use a power steering bottle header tank as it has a breather in the cap. saley will make one for around £90 i think. he is on here you will need to PM him

I few people told me it has to be above the pump, but that is not correct as mine works fine. im using a 12litre tank in the back made by John Saley at a bargain price.

there made in malaysia in the factory next door to simex. unfortunately the fctory was bought and they felt it was not profitable anymore. they stopped making them around march 2011 you must have had literally the last set...loads of people still selling them though if you search about. Plus there is still more out there waiting to be shipped i believe

i can fit loads on my drum with it being 14inch. i keep snapping my 12mm rope (despite it being fairly old) and just want something that will always pull me out even if im not spinning my wheels. these 90's are heavy

im after some 14mm or 16mm plasma rope. (the silver stuff) so marlow. Where is the cheapest place to buy it from, anyone know? ideally 150ft thanks in advance

new suck pipe and noise has gone.. winch works perfectly.. the only prob is between a certain rev range there is still a lot of noise coming from the tank / levers (even when i do not use the winch) just with the pump engaged. no bubbles at all now. any ideas? only thing i can think of is valve block on levers. FYI - Winch is a Saley with a 14inch drum on a north offroad bumper (if i was buying it again you can just get a 14.5inch drum on a north offroad bumper if you are interested) - its bloody brilliant pulls my truck up a slope with all the brakes on hard and does not miss a beat or even slow down... free spool is great and flicking betwen high and low is easy - fast is fast.

Hi guys i am going to cut the crossmember off as its a bit rusty. my other reason is because i have whacked it pretty hard a few times now and want to do a small bobtail off it by removing about 3 inchs. has anyone done this? any tips / advice? it looks pretty easy as i have a side exit exhaust and only removing 3inches means there are no body mountings to re do.. my plan is to literally cut it off and then drill the rivets on the rear tub cut 3inches off everything and re weld it back on / re rivet... do you think it will be this easy? (mine is a soft top truck cab) - not a fan of tray backs thanks in advance oh there was a guy on here selling home made crossmember if he reads this ill buy it.

ocv is fine guys after all this is happening before i pull any levers anyway. return pipe is lower.. i will have a play this weekend i think

thank guys not working yet but will run the return from pump back to tank and see what happens... if no bubbles i will replace levers if there are bubbles i will replace suck pipe... uuum if anyone is in surrey who can sort this any help would be much appreciated in the form of beer / cash.

the winch works fine its just if i rev ever so slightly i get a very loud noise which sounds like its coming from the levers? i have checked and replaced most on the suction pipes and still no sucess? i am going to try by passing the levers and plubling the return from pump straight to the tank and see if air bubbles come through.... can the levers draw air though?

yeah they are self bleeding but i must be sucking in air from somewhere...i have no idea now.. checked every connection twice.. not losing any oil.. but its sounds bad...comming through the levers... really noisey

Hi guys. I have installed my hydraulic winch but am getting some problems.. the winch works perfectly however as soon as I rev my engine I am getting loads of noise inside the cab which sound like trapped air (so bad that you can’t hear anything else) … if I take the lid off the tank you can see bubbles getting pushed out… I have tightened every joint but still can’t stop it… any ideas ?? I am in surrey if anyone fancies fixing it .. £100 if you can do it before Friday  Thank you Will
