  1. Possibly a failure of the VCV on the fuel pump. Easy to change, costs about £120, but requires recalibration. Andy
  2. Defender on chains is very good in the white stuff.
  3. Have you checked, changed injector wiring harness? Andy
  4. There is a lot of knowledge on http://www.defender2.net/forum/ About the Tdci engine. Andy
  5. Try reset. Disconnect battery, touch both neg and pos cables together, rewire battery, and retry.
  6. Sounds like an immobiliser problem. Andy
  7. Yes. As written above. Rewired ECM to pedal assembly. Problem solved. Andy

  13. I've have had, and is now very common for the wires that go from the ECM (under drivers seat) to throttle pedal to get damaged due to them rubbing through the insulation. The easiest way yo deal with this is to rewire the pedal direct from the ECM to pedal. When I had this problem I listed it all in the defender section. Have rewired 4 Td5s now. Andy
  14. Yes very common to leak there. It also hides the leak by getting so hot and evaporating the water, so normally is found via the smell. Andy
  15. My warn with a shot motor sold on eBay for £440, even though it was listed as not working and sold as spares or repair. Then brought a TDS which David knocked the vat off, so was a great deal. That's the route I would recommend to you. Andy
