  1. Thanks Bowie that sounds great thanks for the positive Reply. Yes I'm looking and lift kits at moment. I'm likely only to be going off about once a month so I'm not want to spend much.
  2. I know that's what I have been looking at 90'stha would minimum need a rear cross member year most would need a chassis but then yes they may hold their value. But if your not mechanical mined it daunting to do that. Along with a deep pocket. Been down the discovery td5 route that spent even week in the Garage. I'm not going to do hard core I let others with deeper pockets than me. This question was a ask how I could improve the freelander offroad. Not how it runs or sunroofs (is doesn't have one) It a runner just got a mot, looks clean and under £1800 looks a right bargin.
  3. Hi Just getting back into landrovers after a few years away from the sport I want to get back into having a 4x4 capable for doing some off roading also to use to get to a Stage to marshall events. I have my eye a 52 plate Freelander 1 1.8 Petrol, 5 door at a good Price. i was looking at a 90 but then the £ signs just kept rolling up. I don't really have much to tinker with the project. But have a mate that has all the tools.. I wonder how much cider this will need???? So what are people's views on how good these cars are off road. what adaptations are needed to make the car more useful off road? suspension kits, tyres, Any help would be appreciated. kind regards Chris
  4. Hi, I have a 99 D2 TD5 previous owner has put in darken windows all-round the back.. Yes looks great with a black car. But can’t see anything when reversing I am not sure it the reversing lights that are in the wings are that good. I see the later D2 have the reversing lights in the bumper... I live in the Country little lanes load of drops of side of the road but I might as well guess where to steer.. Has anyone added more light to rear of their cars without the use of roof rack... I believe if you add a lamp that is LED you don’t need to add more relays into the system... can i use use LED lamps in current light if so what are the most powerfull you can buy in the UK I do have a tow bar so I was thinking of fitting of that, I am trying to keep the car as normal as possible Any ideas would be appreciated
  5. Hi I have just got a Disco 2 td5 manual I use it mostly on the road but I'm also a Marshall for a 4x4 club. I go off road at least once a month in it. I am not going to go mad with adapting the car as I use it for day to day family stuff too. I thinking of protecting the Diff's has anyone any advice on this subject and what are the guards to go for. I'm on a budget so not going out & spending loads of dosh on these.. any advice appriciated

Hi Just got a Discovery 2 2000 model most things are ok but have a major leak of fluid from the Electric Valve on the offside of the car below the Drivers seat.. has anyone seen a issue like this or any idea what could be wrong? I am hoping to keep the air on the car due to be used 90% on the road but 10% will be offroad as I am a marshall for Challenge South West events. Any Advice most welcome thanks in advance

  18. Was over at David Bowyer's yesterday they said the only physical difference between a Albright & one for an EP series in the the brackets on the back the holes are in different places. also on the Albright the contact are moulded & have a Round brass nut, on the others they have a Normal Brass nut. not sure about internal contacts.
  19. Hi put my 2 pennies into this!! BT read the SMALL print about Pricing!!! yes If your on the Demon Home package like I am Your paying about 24.99, But I have looked around there is few suppliers giving you a "unlimited" download at a maximum speed of your telephone line! Most have a fair use policy that can be a problem if you extend your self! some limited the speed your connecting on & some limited how big your mail box is! Was setting up a system yesterday for an old guy wanted to spend about £30 per month on call, line rental & internet we looked at BT when they say one cost for 6 months then upgrade to this, the Inclusive minutes are if you use another number & make call over the internet!. this tech support is oversea's always is when I ring & if they can't fix your problem they will blame your firewall. Pipex looked good but the run a limited account service ie in GB download per month if you you go over the say for 2gb you would be paying about £2.75 ever GB after that. oh if you want to pay for your account on the by credit of debit card they charge any extra £1. both these are 18 month contacts We ended up at Eclipse in Exeter. OK If I ever changed from Demon which I doubt as my email address is in the public domain I would go to. its a cracking little service Devon based, Tech support is in Devon on a Exeter Number. very good tech support. even heard from a couple of customers when such as there has been a problem withe line they have rung up the customer after BT has fixed the support checking every thing is ok!! NOW thats what I call service This is a 12 month contract Hope this helps

  22. ahh some Bonus points for you there James! Went out in the 4x4 to a road into the village which at 7:30pm still flooded. I had earlier bottled out taking the Volvo V70 through it!!
  23. I have a Warn M6000 Fitting to a 1989 Suzuki Vitara 1.6 8v some of you have seen it on JST events. I am bit worried on the Power or maybe lack of it coming out of the standard battery that is a 40amps 35mah i think. would I do better if I got another one in the boot & wired winch from that?? if so does it matter the length of cable between the to batteries & the engine?? what are Exide batteries like Mole Valley Farmer only 3 miles away!!! iof so what size should I bee looking for? also of was fitted in the rear of the car anything I should & should not do when fixing? I have just put in a wooden bulkhead between the front seats & rear & the floor of rear is wood too any help with thanks, getting ready for 7 sisters
