  1. As far as I know the holes in the door are the same. I'm not sure about the bulkhead side. Mike
  2. I don't I'm afraid, but I vaguely remember a company doing some. Whether there still in business/Ali I don't know. Mike
  3. The civilian 90 never had sliding windows. The military 90, 110 and 127 had sliding window right up until now bar one or two civilian spec models. The military/110 sliding window frames are different to the series version, they are aluminium instead of steel and the glass is a different shape. Series lower doors are also different but predominantly on the inside. However all doors from series 2 through to defender will fit the hole but the catches and hinges differ. Mike
  4. Thanks for the offer ed but I'm happy with how mine is working out. The roof will be going on over Xmas and if I get really carried away I might be able to do the front. All in this will be around 27m² with an additional 7m² of dry storage on one side. Mike
  5. That would be my assumption. If you were to convert to permanent 4wd I would change it to toe out. Mike
  6. Your quite right. It's to do with the component slack being taken up so you end up near enough parallel under load. Nothing to do with spring type but this the reason for bumpsteer on some suspension types Mike
  7. I've seen several pictures and two short videos but not fifth gear. I'd be interested to see what they said. Mike
  8. And then I'd be dangerously close to normal, that ain't never gonna happen! I must admit it would make a nice cheap daily.......... Mike
  9. I don't own any sensible cars, the only one close is her's and that's a 38 year old 110. Mike
  10. Surely if it was a factory special edition it would have a special vehicles plate. That said it could be part of a special vehicles order and the seller thinks that's a special edition. Mike
  11. I'm well aware of them. Given the wife doesn't like the look of the ibex I'd never get a nomad past her. Besides apparently I'm not allowed any more cars..... Mike
  12. I might be wrong but I don't think a working Speedo is part of the mot yes it must display mileage but I've never seen them test it to see it show speed. I know for a fact my dad took a kit car for an MOT where the Speedo only worked in reverse (he sorted it later) and that still passed but it was a few years ago. Mike
  13. Should be an R380 gearbox, all defenders have an LT230 transfer box 1.41:1 ratio however I think the puma engine'd has a 1.22:1 ratio also fitted to discovery 1/2 and often retro fitted to defender (personally I think the 1.22 is to tall for a defender). Mike
  14. Because it didn't happen without pictures, here's some I've just taken in the dark.... I've got some old roof tiles over the concrete in the photos to keep the frost/rain off it. I'm planning on getting to roof on over Xmas but I've still got trusses and the lean-to part of the roof to build in between times. Mike
  15. Finally managed to get some more done. A couple of weeks ago I picked up some second hand roof sheets, there's enough to do the whole roof and a lean-to section down one side for external storage. These have now been cut to size bar two (I've run out of discs). This morning I got the strip of concrete across the front done ready for the front wall after the roof is on. Mike
  16. I think anything you do won't look good. But then I have an ibex . Mike
  17. Or you could just rivet a rubber flap over the whole lot. Job done. Mike
  18. Looks like any old fire engine would be quite a good base though. Mike
  19. I did say a short, though I was thinking something a little less extreme. Mike
  20. The contacts in the stalk may of got stuck but as they are on solid I'd say a short or knackered flasher relay. Mike
  21. I wish I could of been putting a roof on mine. Hay ho. Mike
  22. We have beautiful blue skys and I said to the wife the only thing that would make today a nicer day was some white fluffy stuff. She shivered rolled her eyes and has gone back to bed. To be fair she got a stinker of a cold but I mean seriously what could be better! Mike
  23. I think the defender turbo will hit the bonnet on a rangie. The V8 lt77 doesn't fit a 200tdi unless you manage to find the special spigot bush used in the factory retro fit kit. Mike
  24. Just a slightly windier night here, no snow either . Mike
