  1. That was an answer to your first question, i'll go back to my beer.
  2. Hi there, last time I had a problem like that, it was a short on the back of the near side v. Took me ages to find, even when I took the loom out of the car it was still hard to find. Not saying that is the answer for you, but!
  3. Now that makes sense, I Know the man spent a bob or two. I got an unused je engine off him. I cannot tell 100% from the pic, but very close. Heck those are spendy!
  4. No, they came with a deal I did. The man I got them from said that they had been set up for racing. I put them in my RRC for about 500 miles and did not get on with them. A lot of clanking. Worked well off road!
  5. Ratio is standard 4.7. So, not KAM and not ashcroft. well, at least we are narrowing it down.
  6. Yes, and yes. I have them on my rrc and 3 previous lr's.
  7. I have had a couple of people say KAM, but as you say, after a google I can't find one to match! Hopefully there will be a grown up along soon!
  8. Hi all, I have a couple of lsd's that I would like to identify. The only markings on them that I can see are RB RER B RBB FRT B I get the front and rear bit, but who made them?
  9. Hi there, I have been having the same problem in my 93 lse. Worked it out to be the vent flaps were not closing 100% (more than one). They would not respond to adjustment. Replaced the hole assembly yesterday, went out for a drive last night and had to take my jumper off! I must state that this is in English temperatures!
  10. Hi there, I had the same problem a month or so ago. Turned out to be a worn ignition barrel flicking on and off.
  11. Hi all, simple question. the truck has been idle for a bit. I am getting a lot of false readings on the multi meter. I am thinking dry contacts. what is the best way of cleaning them up? Contact cleaner,or? What do you find best? Thanks for any advice.
  12. That sounds like mine did when one of the lobes went on the cam.
  13. I was pulled over on the way back from an mot a couple of years ago. The rr had passed, the copper said it could not have passed because the tyres came out 2in passed the arches. He then implied that the mot was dodgy. He then called his mates in, and they decided to take the car away to let vosa have a go at it. They failed it on one number plate bulb was not working and the rear brake line was missing one clip! Then they said the car was unfit to be on the road because of these two faults and canclled the mot giving me 7 days to get it re moted. The tyres going passed the arches was never mentioned by vosa.
  14. i have worked on imperial and metric, and they have been the same on the cars I have done. That is the ones I have played around with, not saying they all are!
  15. You are not wrong! I spent 6 months last year welding up my lse. New sills, A posts B posts boot floor rear x member inner arches front and back. I have had 9 rrc's in the past. My day today car is a Disco 2 td5 metropolis, but i like the rrc's. I will report back after I pick it up on saterday.
  16. ok, it seems we are getting somewhere. he is now saying the engine was fitted in 2006 by Stables 4x4. it's an auto, so I would think its a v8 conversion. I still think I am going to buy it. 110000 miles on the clock, long tax and 10 months mot. £1175. Thanks for your help. Carl
  17. Hi all, just a quick question, when did land rover put the 200tdi into the range rover? I have just won a rr200tdi on fleebay, but he did not have a year on the add. He has just got back to me and said its a 1990. I was thinking that land rover put it in in 1992! Can someone clear this up for me. Many thanks Carl
  18. Hi there, I understand your problem. I have a heavily modded RRC, I have just got it on the road after a two year rebuild, and boy, am I happy with it. While it was off the road I got myself a disco 2 face lift metropolis. Nice car, but it just dose not have it. Whatever it is. So, in answer to your question, the disco will be for sale.
  19. Thanks for the interest. I've had the car about one year. It has full service history, and the fuel filter was changed at the last service 4000 miles ago. It now has 97000 miles on it and its a 2003 td5 face lift metropolis. It surges at all revs but is most noticeable at about 3000 rpm. where it makes power. the revs rise by about 500rpm. Its an auto by the way.
  20. Morning all. Driving the car yesterday (disco 2 td5) and at a steady throttle, it started surging. It was most noticeable about 3000rpm. So, started thinking turbo, pipes etc, then I was thinking throttle position sensor. Now, the question is, how do I check the tps. There are no lights on or bells and buzzers, and the big hand has not come out of the dash and slapped me round the face yet. Thanks Carl
  21. Hi there, when I did mine, I left the outer slightly longer than the inner. Then folded it back in over the inner. Tidy and strong, plus no filler. Simples.
  22. Thanks for that lads, i'll give it a go and see what goes bang first!!
  23. Hi Steve, the rrc never had a rubber doughnut fitted.
  24. Hi Daan, not sure? See if these picks help.
