Placed in various locations throughout the site will be 30 'punches' These are trig point punches simular to those used in orienteering (normally look like a mini stapler!) Each punch has a series of pins that are used to stamp your control card which will be attached to the LH side of your vehcile Each punch is numbered 1-30 so you must stamp the correct punch to the correct number on your control card. We will arrange the punches so roughly 20 are driveable and 10 are winchable. You will need to use your driving skills to manouver your vehicle close enough to punch your card without removing either the punch or your control card from its fixed position. If punches or cards are tampered with this will result in disqualification. Scoring System Each punch has a 'point' value which will be added up at the end of the day to give you a overall score. Punches are worth the following Punches number 1 - 9 inclusive are worth 100 Points Punches number 10 - 19 inclusive are worth 150 Points Punches number 20 - 19 inclusive are worth 200 Points Punch number 30 is worth 400 Points Event times The day will start with driver signing in and vehicle scrutineering, after all vehicles are signed in we will hold the drivers briefing which will cover rules of the site and locations of the punches. After everyone is briefed the event will start. You will have till 3:30pm to collect as many punches as possible, you must be back at the signing in area at 3:30pm, if you are late you may have points deducted from your overall score. Communications CB radios will be on channel 22 on the day Walkie talkies will be on channel 3 Marshals will be contactable on these channals if you need assistance Roaming marshals will issue warnings for the following: Exceeding the site speed limit of 10mph Dangerous Recoveries Not wearing seat belts We are gratefull to the landowners who allow us to use their land and we must respect this the land is their source of income. Anyone found to be constantly breaking the rules will be asked to leave the site, you will NOT recieve any refund. Recovery Self recovery is allowed however the use of winches will be supervised wherever possible. We expect people using winches for self recovery to do so in a safe and controlled manner. A winchblanket must be used over the top of thwe winch cable in case of breakages. You must check the are is clear before you start any winching. "Winching in Progress" must be shouted to warn others in the area that a recovery is taking place. 15. Due to popular demand, we will be visiting baldhu on the 12th as the last event (January 2009) was a resounding success. This is a very tight and tricky site so the larger vehicles please take extra care if you want to avoid scratches and dents. we will be meeting at Sainsbury's Marsh Mills at 9am sharp. Please try your best to get there 15 minutes early as we will try and leave on the button it is a little trek down there but 100% worth it entry fee is £10 and because it is a plymouth offroad event this will be collected at the gate hopefully we can start the new year off with a bang and keep going the way weve been going so far. make sure you are fully equipped with tow ropes etc, make sure u have someone there who is happy to tow you home if something breaks etc and vice versa as i dont want to abandon anyone we will be using channel 10 cb and channel 3 walkie talkie The postcode is TR3 6BL

  21. heres what ive done over the last 2 years of having it Heres a quick low down on all the places i found rust it was a suprise every time, im slowly fighting it away, some people have told me to scrap it but i love it far too much to do that but now its probably stronger than its ever been rear cross member re-welded then put a 5mm thick aluminium plate over the top so i can jack off it the passenger footwell and front arches were shagged, grind out the old in with the new right as im sure u are all aware the discovery 1 is renown for rotten boot floors and mine is no exception i am cutting the old floor out tmrw along with all the rust that has spread and today i purchased a 1600m x 1400m 5mm thick aluminium sheet this will make the crossmembers redundant but they are rusted so will be removed anyway but as ive gone overkill with 5mm sheet ill be fine ill start posting pictures up tmrw wish me luck this is what it looked like last week tdays progress pics rain stopped play 30 mins ago due to a trenchal downpour oh and i went and bought a 9 inch grinder thanks for the advice what a difference and so much more fun and finally how i finished today with the boot door lip in and the edges strengthened and my new crossmember fitted worked wonderfully little progress update will take pics of the finished product tmrw tadaa the finished product, gonna clean up the sealant once its set properly needs a week to do that so ill do it then but its not gonna be on show so i may not well see so here ya go gonna repaint the interior again to make it look clean
