  1. Al, Have i understood correctly that you had a 300tdi wiper motor and plugged a td5 loom into it? I'm trying to do the reverse, as I will have a td5 (post 2002) wiper motor, but a 300 loom. As i don't have either inform of me yet, i can't tell if this will work. any help or confirmation that i can plug a tdi loom into a td5 wiper motor would be a big help.. thanks
  2. is a discovery r380 manual gearbox the same as a defender r380? so you can swap from one car to another? I know the disco auto is the same as a defender r380... thanks

  5. hey guys, I'm so sorry for not replying! I had exams and lost touch with the world! and sold the lr in the process as i needed the cash!! - hence not checking the forums.. I was totally serous about selling the suspension. it was so capable that i did not enjoy driving it anymore as it simply crawled over everything, with out diff lockers. setup was +4 shocks on -2 mounts. extended breathers and brake hoses, and SR trailing arms with orange poly bush. The roll cage is a custom roll cage. I had it built for me. 3.8mm CDS and galvanized by hand! It may come up for sale in the future. - as i have first by back of my d90. Winch sits on the sr extreme winch bumper. better very.. very late than never. nige
  6. Thanks for the advice. I've decided to give the lr thing a small brake until Ive done a bit more homework, but will let you know what i decide. - oh, and i need a job too. =)
  7. My sister comes to see me and spends £15 on petrol. I go to see her and spend £40 on diesel. (300tdi) i have no need to drive a 4x4 other than i like it and want to go off road. - problem is that it seems rather silly to keep wasting money on fuel on motorways. people keep telling me that i need a 'normal person car' and a 4x4. so over the last year i looked carfully at 4x4 owners .. and find that quite a few have a car hiding somewhere. Often some nissan micra or wife's queer car so that when the land rover brakes (which it will) you can still get to work. what is your opinion. - have a 4x4 just to go and play in and a normal car / public transport for the rest - screw the fuel, and accept that it costs more to drive what you want Its a bit poor that my career choice dose not need the use of 4x4s. =( Whats your ideal situation?
  8. If you were going to build a standard 90 truck cab - all new parts. what engine from above would you put in and why? If you were going to build a 90 buggy for offroading would you change your first answer? I have absolutely no need for a Land Rover. but i cant live with out one. so.. i suppose i would only use it for off roading, mostly in the UK. and prob in pay and play sites. so cant really decide what route to take. Price is a big issue, so take everything into account.
  9. has anyone got the XS Black Rack Cloth / Leather seats from exmoor trim? i was wondering how well they last. thanks
  10. i will sell you my entire suspension kit if your interested. =) Nige

  12. Hi everyone. Yes to everything, Discojamz: yes, let me know. would be great Munster - Hindhead: Yea, i would love to come. can you give me a time and place? i don't really know the area but do have a tom tom thingy Dirkthe1 - sounds like fun. if ur doing it again let me know. i heard one of the tracks there is a real Axel twister. definitely going to get my moneys worth from this 90!!
  13. Hi there, I'm new to the forum so would like to introduce my self I Live in Kingston Upon Thames and have a defender 90. Its not a shiny shiny so am interested in driving the more difficult lanes. My navigational and 'checking what lanes are still open' skills are really poor/non existent, so if anyone is going on a difficult greenlane or track around surrey or nearby, may i please tag along? - oh, and needless to say, i am totally obsessed with Land Rovers. I even like the Freelander...!!! Thanks nige
