  1. thanks folks. Already changed: leads, points, spark plugs, coil, wrapped up fuel pipe to see if over heating was the issue. If it is heat related could it be sticking valve or valve related? I have tried pulling off lead from rear spark plug and it seems not to make any difference to running sound when stationary. thanks, Leigh
  2. Hi, after about 1.5 miles(when hot) my 1966 2a begins to misfire and continues to do so, although will still reach 50 mph ok. I've changed various parts, condenser, checked timing, changed fuel lift pump, changed coil. I've not done compression check. Timing done with strobe. Sounds fine when cool. Choke does not seem to make any difference to the misfire. Any thoughts, many thanks, Leigh
  3. Hi, I have a 2a 2.25 1964negative earth but not sure where the old brown wire, LT wire and ignition wire should connect to i.e. positive/negative on coil - any help would be much appreciated. Leigh.
  4. Hi, help. I have a 1964 2a 88 converted to alternator negative earth Landie. I'm having misfires only when warm/hot (2 miles+). Also problem restarting if hot. Thought it was fuel or a dozen other things however saw a post somewhere which suggested might be connections to coil are wrong way round so starts OK but then develops symptoms I am experiencing. Changed coil recently but it might well be I have got connections wrong. Where do my three wires go please? a) LT lead from distributor? B) wire to switch c) old brown wire going back into the loom? Thanks for info on wire destinations.
