  1. Gent's, Sorry if this is in the wrong forum (mods please feel free to move). What is the consensus on what are the best plugs to use in a squirted 4.6? Cheers, Mick.
  2. Yep, Undo the central nut and pull the flange off. HTH's Mick.
  3. Can't help with the rattle but to test the oil pressure switch: Pull of the connector from the switch and make a temporary lead up to connect the wire to the -ve terminal of the battery (or a clean piece of metalwork). Turn on the ignition. If the light comes on the switch is knackered if it doesn't something else is. HTH's, Mick.
  4. Anybody else noticed the poster behind the CNC's or is it just me? Going to report Ashcroft's to the sexism police unless they provide me with a nice 4.6 compatible R380
  5. Thanks very much gents. Superb.
  6. Cheers Mo. Any idea which pin is which on the sensor?
  7. Gents, When I swapped engines I gave the Td5 loom away with the engine. I've retained the transfer box which has the speed sensor which I now need to wire to the speedo. Drawing only shows one wire going From the sensor to the dash but the sensor has thee pins, any ideas what I need?
  8. Thanks Ralph, Any idea what my options are? Ideally I would rather change the gauge than the sender. Ta, Mick.
  9. I just want to move the scale a little so I can see the important end with a bit more clarity. If I could reduce the minimum temp to something like -10 instead of -40 it would make the gauge more meaningful.
  10. Gent's, Just put a 4.6 into my ex Td5, have used a RRC level sender in to the tank but it doesn't seem to work. Is the RRC sender compatible with the Td5 fuel gauge? Cheers, Mick.
  11. I really want to post a public thank you to Nige (Hybrid From Hell.) Recently fitted an already squirted 4.6 in to my 110, baring in mind I didn't buy the MS kit from him he has been incredibly helpful with the few minor issues I have had. Boys & girls if you are thinking about 'squirting your truck I doubt you could get better service any where else. Nige THANK YOU.
  12. Gents, Can the default -40 to 120 coolant temp gauge scale be changed?
  13. One key? Pah, buy a Defender and get used to having three Seriously, change the barrel before you end up stranded.
  14. I guess anybody answering this post on this (or any other LR forum) is going to react in a similar manner if waved at, after all we are all certifiable
  15. Another group that do it (or did) were Reliant Robin owners. I suffered the shame of being driven around in a pink one as a teenager so don't even go there!
  16. In Lancashire I've learnt to not bother waving at anything with an Ifor Williams top (farmer), Puma with a bling front grill (to$$er ) or anything without dents, snorkel, winch etc unless it's a 90, 110 or series. Seems to work around here but no offence meant Edit: if I'm any where near Rippon or Harrogate I don't wave at anything because they look at the 110 like it's just cr@pped on the carpet
  17. Gents, I note that on Hybrid From Hell's drwaing the MS ECU has several pins marked "Spare" Are any of these configurable inputs? I have an in truck PC running a 6" touch screen and was wondering if I could use the ECU & Megatune to display oil pressure (via a transducer obviously) Cheers, Mick.
  18. Steve you are a gent & I'm a muppet Didn't think of brazing it so thanks!
  19. Gent's, The 4.6 conversion I'm undertaking is going well but i've just found that the radiator I received with it is damaged (probably me that damaged it if I'm honest) Where the outlet to the expansion tank joins the main body of the rad is split at the rad side, anybody repaired something like this? I think the rad is from a RRC and the tank appears to be copper, should I try to solder it, use plastic metal or throw it in a skip? Thanks for any advice, Mick.
  20. It's ok, the nice, quiet, quilted ambulance is on it's way.
  21. The Jag is automotive porn. The "Defender" is just wrong.
  22. For a definitive answer I'd give Gwyn Lewis a call, tell him about your truck, what you use it for & he'l give you his honest opinion. Grand bloke too.
