  2. Looks exactly like the Clarke one I've got (except for the fact that mine has legs rather than being a bench top) They are slow to use, I've got 14 cfm compressor with a 150 Ltr tank and it can't keep up with even the smallest nozzle. If you have a mega compressor you won't be able to see what you are doing after 5 minutes anyway unless you fit some form of extraction (anl old Dyson does the trick.) Oh, and you have to breath out whilst turning your head or the perspex window fogs up. Having said all that they are superb for cleaning rust, cr@p and paint off, beats a wire brush any day! HTH Mick.
  3. How do you get at the battery with either of those fitted? Take the seat out every time I guess
  4. No not at all, Would just like to see a pic of a LR pulling a HGV (I'm sad like that)
  5. I hand painted an old 2A with coach paint, tough as old boots and you couldn't see any brush marks once it had dried. If you are going to hand paint spend your £ on good brushes or you will regret it. HTH Mick.
  6. Smego, Can I ask where you got that "kit" from please?
  7. Hi all, Does a retrofit kit exist to install central locking (and if possible alarm and immobiliser) to a 2000 110 TD5 (Van back)? Cheers, Mick.
  8. Cheers Chaps. Thanks for the tip DD.
  9. Hi Gent's, Wondering if you can help, I've just wired up my winch (Superwinch EPi 9.5) that I have taken of my broken RRC and put on my 110. Winch has been stood idle for a while and I noticed that when I was trying to pull off the rope (clutch disengaged)it was a bloody struggle. Now when I try to run it I can hear the brake disengaging and the motor trying to turn but the drum won't move. Before it came of the RR it had done very little work and I know I have wired it up correctly (solenoids are still on the winch, not remotely mounted) Any ideas? Thanks, Mick.
  10. Gent's, I'm sure this has been asked a million times but search doesn't tell me the answer. I've agreed to replace the rear cross member on a mate's (Diesel)90 at the weekend, the welding isn't an issue but I'm not sure what I should disconnect before I get the MIG out. ECU? Alternator? Anything else? Thanks, Mick.
  11. If I've had my brave pills mine will do 85 mph (confirmed by GPS) on the flat hence the question.
  12. Best back off the gas then! Thanks for the help chaps
  13. Thanks for the quick reply gents, I can't find a letter that denotes speed rating but the tyres are 235/85 R 16, Bowie's link gives a rating of 120/116 N Haven't a clue what that means (shouldn't imagine it means 120 MPH!)
  14. Hi all, Could anybody tell me what the speed rating is for Insa Turbo Sahara tyres please? I'm doing quite a lot of motorway driving at the moment and wondered if my tyres are safe at 70 MPH + I've tried Google but can't find the answer. While we are at it I also have a set of Maxxis Creepy Crawlers, what are they rated at? Cheers guys, Mick.
  15. Hi all, Since buying my first defender I've been having a read and it would seem that general opinion says that the TD5 front axle isn't up to much? My question is if I fit the 35" tyres I have taken off my broken RRC am I going to be emptying my wallet faster than I can top it up? Thanks, Mick.
  16. Told you somebody sensible would be along soon.
  17. That's the first Freelander I've ever seen with a winch! Very tidy install, won't look so good once the fairlead rollers and / or wire rope start to rust though
  18. I'm sure somebody sensible will be along soon but I'm not sure about that. Given the extra length if axle articulation was at maximum wouldn't that put more stress on the axle? (Longer lever as it were)
