Hi Leigh, When I snapped my RRC chassis I rang my broker and explained that it was off road but I wanted to keep the policy going to get the NCB, wasn't an issue and they reduced the remaining direct debits, IIRC policy was with Direct Line. Give your brooker a call and explain what you are wanting to do, they will tell you if they won't let you do it before you sell the truck. HTH, Mick.

Hi all, Recently bought a 2000 110 TD5 (van back) and am trying to find out if its been given a lift (it seems a lot taller than my mate's 90 200 TDi) Could anybody tell me what the height would be to the bottom of the "sill" if it were standard please? Truck is running 235 85 R16 Insa's. Thanks in advance, Mick.
  9. Hmm, thinking about this, to gain that level of articulation would I have to loose the ARB? I use my truck (110) on and off road so don't realy want to do that.

  11. I'm sure plenty of people have experience of this kit so was wondering if anybody could answer a couple of questions as I need to make a decision on what I'm going to order asap. As listed (and pictured) on the Gwyn Lewis website the kit is shown as providing +5 1/2" shocks, does this equate to a 5 1/2" lift or is this reduced by a bracket? (I'm only looking for +3") The picture of the kit doesn't include front radius arms, surely these must be included? I know I could wait and give them a call on Tuesday but any answers before them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mick. Edit: I've just re-read the info and I think I've misunderstood it, does the kit just allow an extra 5 1/2" degree of axle drop whilst retaining traction but no extra lift? confused.

Hi all, Bit embarrassed to ask this but when fitting lights either to a roof bar or directly to the roof itself I've always run the wires through a compression gland (stuffing gland) and then tried to squeeze some silicon it there to try and stop water dripping through, must be a better way! What do you guys do?
  14. Haven't used that particular tyre (so I may be wrong) but I have run a modified RRC with a 3" lift and 35" Creepy Crawlers. Let's just say motorway speeds were interesting you will also loose some of the low ratio control you have at the moment.
  15. Has your truck had a suspension lift mate? That aside it depends what you use it for, if you are using it for serious off road stuff the gearing will be wrong unless you are going to change ratios.

  17. Sorry this is O.T. Wife has a little Jimny. t'other day when the lane was full of snow / ice she refused to drive it down saying it was cr@p in the snow (she would be the first to admit that she's not the most confident driver in the world), having never driven the thing before I went and brought it down without a problem. Trying to get it back up the following day was another matter, 4x4 light was lit on the dash but it was having none of it, just sat there spinning the back tyres (INSA Trakkers I think), couldn't tell if the fronts were slipping as well. Tried for 5 minutes to get it out then dragged it up with the 110. Anybody know if these are usualy cr@p in snow or is there something wrong?! I had read that the little Jimny wasn't bad off-road but never put it to the test. Cheers, Mick.
