  1. Good point Sir, I'd forgotten about the difference in bolts!
  2. Thanks once again gents! Next question I'm afraid Putting my shopping list together from Real Steel but can't find any mention of composite head gaskets for the 4.6, are they the same as the ones for the 3.9? I know I could ring Real Steel tomorrow but I'm hoping to place an order 1st thing tomorrow. Many thanks, Mick.

Quick up date: Not the best picture in the world but you can see the general idea! Just got to sort the paint work (any suggestions?) drop in the 4.6 and fit a cage! Mick. Sorry if you get a sore neck!
  4. Ah! Had assumed they were a "if you strip replace" item like the big ends. Thanks for that. Whilst we are on the subject of rebuilds anybody got any tips on removing silicon sealent from gasket surfaces? Cheers, Mick.
  5. Cheers for that Nige. Right Gents, Any tips on removing gudgeon pins without wrecking anything? I suspect the answer is a press but I haven't got one of those to hand! I've tried using the vice and a socket, put as much pressure on the vice handle as I dared but gave up before I damaged the piston. Is a trip to machinefart on the cards? Mick.
  6. Hi all, Been looking into lights and have come across ARB & IPF on Devon's website. Seem a bit spendy but are they any good? Don't mind spending on good gear. Many thanks, Mick.
  7. Still not fitted mine yet, still reading... Can anybody tell me what I do with the cold start injector please? No, please, not that...
  8. For god's sake, if you have a habit sniff the filler neck not the dip stick! SORRY.
  9. Ehm, You are a tad late. The War Of The Roses started in 1455... I'll get my coat
  10. I'm sure I'm not the first person that this has happened to... Went to start my truck this evening but no joy because some tw@t has drained the fuel tank. Mick.
  11. Cheers for that Info BBC! Could anybody explain what having a block decked entails as it's not something I've come across before. Many thanks, Mick.
  12. Thanks all, great advice.
  13. Thanks for that, I've read the Howling Wolf threads with great interest but I think I would be out of my league entering one of those! Are there differing classes or do I need to start elsewhere? Thanks again, Mick.
  14. Block currently having a wash in my de-greasing tank, will post some pics when clean Thinking of going for the stump puller cam along with other minor mods, can anybody explain preload to me please? (Cam kit specifys that preload must be set, haven't bought the cam yet so forgive me if instructions are provided.)
  15. Problem is I don't know of anything other than pay and play in my area (Lancashire)
  16. Once you finished d*cking around with play days and green laning (not that there is anything wrong with either - it's the stage I'm at) what is the best way in to more challenging events? Would love to hear tales of how you got into challenge days etc... Thanks in advance, Mick. PS why are co drivers exactly that?
  17. That is just nasty! Doesn't he realise Lr's look better with a few dents and covered in ****e?
  18. Or... Post question on friendly forum, get o-rings free, spend £5 on something else.
  19. No worries, The pint is appreciated but I think it might evaporate before it gets up here!
  20. Cheers, Will post some pics later.
  21. Sorry I meant BHP not torque.
  22. Got the heads off today and it's looking too good to be true. Motor has supposedly done 95000 miles but I can't see any wear and can still see the honing in the bores! Would you expect to see that on a motor of that mileage or has it been rebuilt? (No sign of + 00x" on any components) Many thanks, Mick.
