I built a Real Life Toys Jeep for my lad about 4 years ago (they didn't do any LRs at the time) and it's still going strong. They're not in the same league as the Rebel Replicas but they're not bad either. Was fairly easy to build and rather than buy the kit I chose to make all the bits myself which made it even cheaper It's taken a lot of abuse but is remarkably resiliant for what's essentially an MDF box on wheels.

Hi Mark, No it's not a Disco II, it's a 300 series model (is that the correct designation - it's got the bigger headlights?. Can you tell I know a lot about Discos ) Hopefully your procedure is the one he'll need. I'll also tell him to check out the Difflock website.

Forgive the numpty question but a colleague in the office has just asked if I can advise how to change the Automatic transmission fluid in his Discovery (1998 V8). Apparently the Haynes manual lists it as a 5 spanner job and says it's a dealer job to do. (Can't be that diffucult surely?) As I don't know much about Discoverys (they're too new for me ), I said I'd ask you chaps (and chapesses) as I'm sure someone will have the answer As the Haynes book appears to be it's usual (un)helpfulness, is the Discovery Workshop Manual available on the 'net anywhere to download? TIA

Work is IE6 SP2 and XP Pro. Home is IE6 and XP Home SP2 with dial-up connection through Wanadoo (if that makes any difference)

It's weird, the "Go to first unread post" feature works on my pc at home but doesn't work here at work either. Maybe it's something to do with cookies and the way our company network is set up?
