  1. lr90tcpu... which when I was registering for eBay, I looked up from teh screen to see my 90 pick-up parked outside, so I thought "Land-Rover-90-Truck-Cab-Pick-Up": lr90tcpu
  2. Extra Virgin Olive Oil for the diesel owners then... from Tesco's! That keeps it simple.
  3. No no no!!!! Don't use Tesco's oil for clutch and brakes... . use WD40 - it works a treat!

  5. Interested - YES Nice & tidy 90 - YES - SEE ABOVE PICTURE(!) Standard length springs - YES Standard length bump stops - YES Live local'ish to Derby - NOWHERE IS TOO FAR PLUS: I am photogenic, popular with the ladies, regularly attend magazine photo shoots, and am (in)famous in off-roading circles! My off-road driving ability speaks for itself!
  6. Si - my twisted Truck Cab is still sitting in my garden if you'd like to come and get it. What are you up to this weekend?
  7. Or is it terminal ? Is that a pun Les?
  8. Yes, I suppose I desevrve that! Mind you, even ripping my truck apart at Slindon, I just bungied tied the bent bits down in teh back and still drove home!
  9. Hey - have you two been at the beers tonight? Also, Will: "P.S. Jim, I'd agree with you about driving to an event; if you've got to drive home I think it makes you drive better as you have to think about what you're doing rather than diving in head first." ... you've never done an event with Jim have you? He's NUTS!
  10. Personally, I've been a big advocate of putting strong axles under LR's for some time now. Paul and I discussed at least 2 years ago sourcing some Toyota Land Cruiser axles (for example) and bunging them under an LR chassis. It just makes sense... find a truck that's much heavier/beefier than a Landie, rip it's drivetrain out and install it. That way, you get stuff that's built for much heavier workload under a lighter car and won't (hopefully) break stuff. I think Mog axles are for wimps - Dumper axles are what you really want!
  11. Good rant McSporran... and one I agree with. Driving ability is far more important than whether you made your own winch bumper or not. This really shows up on the big Winch Challenge eventss.. there are a lot of people out there with home-built cars that just cannot drive to save their lives. On the other hand, some of the very top teams out there are have cars with a serious amount of bought-in, bolt-on stuff. So what's the difference? Driver ability. (And, I like to think, Co-Driver ability too!)
  12. Les - I also have a pair of Radius arms (in fact I have several pairs) spare. They are the later '24 spline' type which are wider than the 10 spline earlier arms. Free of charge if you need them. Also, if coming to Slab, we live just 20 mins away and you're welcome to stay over - we have a big house! Simon
  13. Boo Hoo... wish I could have bought your Hybrid. Oh well, going to a good Forum'er. Doesn't sound from your posts like it will be an off-roader... whassup with that? .
  14. It usually goes like this on Winch Challenges: Paul: "I don't know, I think we should winch down that slope" Me: "it doesn't look that dangerous... I'd drive it" Paul: "Yes I know YOU would - that's the problem!" Maybe he's right(!) .
  15. The answer is 42. There's nothing else you need to know.... .
  16. Just a theory of mine - don't mess with a Tdi (or derivative) as they don't like being messed with. Simonr blew his up, you blew yours up, Les Brock blew his up (although he says it may have been faulty when he got it), and 2 frineds of mine not on this Forum blew their up too! We all know how it goes... "Oh I'll get a big intercooler, maybe up the boost a little, maybe twiddle the diesel injector pump a little...... " BANG! Oooops...
  17. That's funny because Chris Watts suggested I eBay it - he said someone would definitely buy it for at least £10! Does £10 sound reasonable?
  18. There was no-one else around when we drove in there so I don't know what Rhino Ray is on about. However, it made a hell of a loud bang - somoene later told me they heard it while standing at the burger van(!) - so quite a few people showed up seconds later.... Fortunately, damage-wise, I have everything I need to fix it - spare parts sitting in my garden. Windscreen/frame, spare doors, and I've been offered a truck cab but I may take this opportunity to go full soft top and get a proper roll cage made. Anyone want a twisted truck cab? .
  19. Oh yes I did! See that blue thing under the leading edge of the truck cab? Well, that's the top rail of the windscreen frame! It ripped that f***er right off! I've not seen that happen before - it's totally ripped the cast aluminium apart. Plus, of course, the glass has a spider-web of lengthy cracks in it which don't show up so well in the photo. Yes, t'was me! I just removed the twisted truck cab and carried on driving around all day. I thought I'd be a good boy before leaving and load up my scrap metal rather than leave it on site... mind you, we could've made a nice picnic table out of it! I got A LOT of strange looks today. People were looking at me kind of like this -> I have 2 soft tops in my spare parts bin and have kindly also received an offer of a nice sounding truck cab already, so thanks for the offer of teh NAS hood but I probably won't be needing it Dave. .
  20. Hmm, within 10 minutes of getting to Slindon today I did this to my 'new' 90: Was driving slowly around the 'Wall of Death' which has claimed many a worthy vehicle before, and got wedged up against the tree. Funny really, because as we drove into the section I said to my passenger "I've not been around here before but I hear it's a bit tricky" and "cor - look at all the different colours of paint on the side of that tree". Well, we got wedged up against the tree and the truck cab was squishing in a bit, we were pretty stuck but I thought we'd get off the tree in 1st with a little 'boot' on the throttle. Snick gear lever into 1st... Blip throttle... and... POW! goes the truck cab roof.. and POP! POP! POP! go each of the side windows and rear truck cab windows! I just sat there wetting myself laughing but my passenger strangely lost enthusiasm and shortly thereafter said he wanted to go home. Whaddya think? A bit of T-Cut and it'll come out I reckon. .
  21. Turbocharger - I'm selling a Tdi Autobox also...
  22. Uh-oh... I sense another "Ooops, my diesel's blown itself up" thread in the not too distant future!
  23. No (sigh) yet another prizegiving where the hardworking Winch Bitch got no recognition. I dunno what it's all about - it's not like the drivers actually have to do anything - they just sit on their arses all day!
