  2. OK i have just measured mine up and 111mm, but i think they may come in different offsets, mine were from devon 4x4 and were ordered for a standard 90 so they should be ok, hope this helps.
  3. I have not been in southampton long and I need to set up a tig welder, does anyone have any contacts for getting argon gas in or around Southampton, if i need to set up an account with boc or air services thats fine but I cant find anywhere that does it in large bottles only those little disposable ones.
  4. mmmmm just got one for Tracy, my sort of freelander arrives at the end of the month, cant wait
  5. Not sure about the bit on remoulds I have had blackstar on my 90 for many years and found them to be excellent, i will only be swapping on the D-Lander because i cant get themany more or in the sizes I want.
  6. I often travel in West Sussex so if I see ya ill give a wave too, sometimes i might be in the disco or the 90 or my soon to be d-lander
  7. Oy you lot rich did not break down, he had thermostat trouble and couldnt get another one, I want it recorded that I made my own way there and my own way back without the aid of others, and towing the trailer. That is dummy out of pram - but only cos the racer is going on monday its sold {sounds of sobbing as he exits left}
  8. OOPs thanks to those of you who pointed out it was not Bearmach but BRITPART who dont sell thermostats at shows, even when they have one. (I have ammended the origional post) Four of us did go round the other stalls but no one had any, except BRITPART. The problem with running without one is that the housing wont seal without one, it has a rubber seal that sits between the housings and also the bottom button on the thermostat diverts the water flow to the radiator when the engine is hot. If you take the center out, the water will take the flow of least resistance, which I guess is round and round the engine and not via the radiator. Well at least it appeared to up birdlip hill, must find another way home mmmmm up to cumbria across to leeds and down the m1 now theres a thought
  9. I know folks who are connected with the owners and they are saying that its still being negotiated so perhaps we will have to wait and see?
  10. mmmm Birdlip Hill screwed my temp completely had to stop and let the bubbling niose subside, fortunately I don' t think that the engine is damaged. May not have happened if BRITPART who had the only thermostat for a 300tdi in the show would have sold it to me, but they wouldnt as they said it was in a new engine and they might forget to replace it before it was sold. Shame on you BRITPART I thought the landrover community was about helping each other out . Last weekend we were replacing a gearbox on a 110 for someone who was on their way to croatia and you guys couldnt even sell me a thermostat - My next project starting this month will require an investment of about £10k i can tell you that you wont see a penny of it! The readers of this forum - make what you will of this post.
  11. Well its nice to know you consider me a friend but can you really get a bit quicker at doing up the rear proshafts, in the two boxes we did over the weekend it took you ages, even with my magic propshaft bolt tool !!!!
