Truetrac is a torque biasing diff centre - I wouldn't write them off so quickly. Quaiffe do a torque biasing diff,similar to truetrac,but I would thing much better quality. You will get as many different opinions as people you ask,but I used a rear detroit in my landrover for a year or so,and thought it was great - no handling issues on the road and no clunking when disengaging.The only reason I changed to ARBs was because on very low traction surfaces the detroit would sometimes not unlock on a bend - which wasn't great for trialing. Give the Kiaser a go,and tell us about it.

I don't think the sensors have changed. On the one piece cable I can't see any way to pull the inner cable out,short of cutting the end off.

Fitting a brantz speedo cable sensor. I've read the instructions. How can I remove the inner cable to slide it trough the sensor when each end has moulded or crimped fitting on it?

No. CO2 bottles have different fittings to welding gas bottles - also the pressures are much lower in CO2 bottles,so the range of the pressure scale would be unsuitible.

My experience is No. Tried it to power my milemarker on a 300 tdi with a 30cc pump - 6" pulley on the pump,well over 180 degrees contact and the spring tensioner locked in place to prevent slack under load. It worked wonderfully when tested in the yard - first time I was up to the bonnet in slop and really needed a winch,it was useless. I was going to try a synchronous belt,but had a chat with Rakeway engineering,and they warned me against toothed belts - they are non-stretchy,and will snap with the smallest stone underneath them,so must be fully enclosed in a guard. Poly-vees can transmit big power no problem,but not in mud and slime.

Thanks,I was hoping for something very fine to serve a similar purpose to a scribe.I do use felt tipped pens,but they stop marking very quickly. Wouldn't have thought of French chalk - I remember that from the seventies when my Mum used to make her own clothes.

Is there such a thing as a felt/fibre tipped pen for marking out on steel? Are there any other options besides a scribe? Also,I have bought quite a few carp centre punches (automatic and manual) - can anyone recommend a top quality make that will keep its point for more than 5 minutes?

I run 35/10.5 simex with no lift.The tyres will hit the rear wheel box given a good thump. Extend the bumpstop by an inch,or raise the wheel boxes rather that lift the vehicle. I enjoy the relative stabilty of my truck on side slopes. How can you say he will need 30mm spacers when you dont know what wheels he is using?We are obviously not talking landrover steel wheels if they are 7" wide or over.
