  1. Cheers Blippie, The part was just over £150, a couple of hours labour and the VAT took it to about £270, which was a bit of a stinger tbh. Suppose I could have saved a hundred quid by doing it myself but I've only ever done one on a Ford Escort before and it was a hateful job so I was happy enough to hand my cash over all things considered Great service from Roeans by the way. Cheers, Mike.
  2. Thanks for all the advice - Roeans diagnosed a broken drive shaft, it's in for a replacement tomorrow (£££ -owch). Many thanks once again
  3. Evening all, My first post on here, so hello.. and apologies if this is a bit long and needy for a first post. I have a problem with my freelander I would appreciate some help with please. We bought our Freebie a couple of weeks ago as we needed something comfortable and economical for a bit of long distance cruising. Up until now it has done this very well, but on the way back from Scotland yesterday, it developed a shocking vibration at about 70mph/4k revs. This was 30 miles from home fortunately, so I limped back along the M54 at 60mph. I have searched the forum and found some info relating to this problem which I believe could be related to a loose IRD mounting bracket? But there's something else.... What concerns me more is the vibration which occurs between 2.5k and 3.5k revs in all gears. It's a bit different to the 70mph vibration and I can only describe it as like going over a set of cats eyes.. just a repeating thud which gets quicker along with the revs. The problem does not occur in neutral. I'm worried I may have knackered something by ploughing on yesterday. Has anyone heard of this before? And could anyone recommend a decent LR mechanic near to Telford in Shropshire? Thanks in advance for any assistance Mike.
