  1. Excellent thanks i have just emailed P&P so lets see what they say and how much they will want for just the 2 side hoops.
  2. Just in the process of researching this myself so would also be glad of any helpful info
  3. Thanks chris. What is the difference from a push bender to a Pull?? How does it make a better bend? I need to find out the type of tubing i have really to see if its worth using it or getting some different stuff.
  4. Im using a push bender same as this: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/chv12-12-ton-hydraulic-pipe-bender Not 100% sure on the type of tube using as i bought it from a mate who had loads left over from building himself a cage. Its 48mm in diametre if that helps at all.
  5. Im looking into building a internal cage around the front seats in 'bogey' but just wondering how/what is the best way to bend it using a proper pipe bender? Just had a play with a waste piece and anything over approx 45 Deg the tube seems to collapse!!!! Any ideas on how to stop this happening? Or just general tips anything much appreciated.
  6. By the sounds of it you should of bought the lot of them at that price. Going down our local tomorrow ( well both) see if they have any and buy all of them.
  7. thanks for the link but i have the older style metal cap with a spring on the inside. and the rubber seal does look a bit old and tatty so could be a culprite
  8. just a cap can sause loss of water even though there are no signs of leaks anywhere... Thats why i put it down to head gasket as i couldn't find a leak
  9. im hoping i might get away with using some k-seal in the water to seal up the leaking head gasket..... anyone ever used that stuff???
  10. Hi mate yeah it aint going well am also out fixing my fiance's car too...... But had a quick look over the rangie and no water in oil and started straight up with no probs...... thats confusing..... No i sold that last week just waiting for cleared funds...
  11. Well think after suspisions the head gasket was on its way out ( vanishing water) it is now finally clear.... Went and started bogey the other afternoon after just being left over-night and after a fair few turns as the battery didnt seem to great it started with a lot of squilling and then a huge bang and ran fine.... Turned out the Mount for the fan/Water pump belt tensioner had sheared off.............. drove to work yesterday and very low on power and the engine was knocking under load ( once warmed up slightly).. and still steam coming out the bonnet but it was not overheating, temp was just over half... Any way after work didnt want to turn over very quickly at all ( possibly lack of compression due to head gasket??) anyway got aslmost home pulled up at some lights and it died...... Wouldn't start at all and just puffs of dark smoke coming out the exhaust while turning over...... Gonna have a look at it in some light in a min...
  12. Im quite shocked at the vandalism but why would you leave your car there for over a week unattended?? I for sure would of made sure it was out of there somehow the next day with some light.... Do feel gutted for him though
  13. Better off checking what else (if any) are run off the same fuse. If not then check the wiper motor it-self it may be drawing too much power meaning its on its way out....
  14. Yeah definatly an earth prob at the light unit itself... Check all earthing point on and around the units clean all contacts and make sure they all are sucure.
  15. right im gonna get myself a new airel before using it again then... See if thats solves the prob.. Thanks for all the replies ill post back once new stuff has arrived...
  16. I did manage to just pull the main airiel out of the base the other day.... without unscrewing it... it came out of the screw mount.. Could this be the main problem?
  17. I recently purchased a midland 38 CB radio and all worked apart from others couldn't hear me... So i put it down to a dead mic so purchased a new one and still nothing. I can hear others fine and others can hear a blip when i activate the mic but cant hear anything we say!! Any ideas??
  18. No its not that bad just prising the old one out after it being there for god knows how many years.. i have taken a few out with prising it against the axle with a 5ft metal bar and a very good wack with a long handled sledge. a few taps and it pops free. installing the new one is easy as it will settle itself in after doing it up tight.
  19. Sort of the same story of when i got mine. had been unused for well over 2 years though and when i went to look at it, it wouldn't start so i walked away but went back and offered him £175 and he was glad.. so i got a bit of a bargain there as it turned out to be a very genuine low mileage example.. and runs like a dream.. Best thing to do when you get it is give it a full service inc all filters etc and change all oils and if the mileage is genuine then you should have a very good solid runner.
  20. Seems to be a lot of theiving scumbags after our 4x4's lately we need to start taking it into our own hands. Hope you get some good news thyough mate. ill keep my eyes open. i still have to replace a severely damaged ignition barrel on bogey but luckily its still usuable just very fiddly.
  21. Machine mart are usually quite good and coming up to x-mas they usually have offers on too.
  22. I looked into this a few weeks ago as i have started my own mobile mechanic business in my spare time at the mo. And the bloke behind the parts desk brought it to my attention and that all i would need is to bring in some company headed stationary. i.e invoice or similair to activate the account. might pop back in there and have a word with them see if thats still the case or whether he was chatting out of his rear end.
  23. Yeah from what i have heard and researched the KL71 aint gonna be what im after. Definatly some creepy crawlers or keep an eye for some simex. already been offered a set since this post
  24. The side lugs dont seem too big say compared to creepy crawlers, but then i could keeep my eye out for a used set of simex. But would i be putting too much strain on the rest of the drivetrain running that size tyre with a lot of grip?
