  1. Hoping someone can help. I've a defender (1988) with a diahatsu tdi engine and the radiator needs replacing and I am struggling to find which landrover rad is fitted . At some point it was probably a td engine , the rad for a td looks right but is too wide and the lugs don't line up, can't get intercooler pipes past . As an oil pressure gauge is fitted I thought at some point it may have had a V8 , looking at the ESR 76 rad this measures exactly in all respect except width ,intercooler pipes again! I understand there is a ESR 79 but can't find a pics. My rad measures 625 x 425 x 50 , lug spacings are 485 (looking from driving seat) top left outlet is 90 degree bend to the right bottom left outlet is straight , expansion bottle outlet is top right . If all else fail can I just fit a 200 tdi frame and rad without the intercooler ? Any help would be appreciated

They go off when the engine starts,you have to hold the key to activate them.I have had the last set in for 6 years so expected them to work fine.I tried a continuaty test which showed nothing,so connected them to a battery just to make sure still nothing.It must be a problem with the plugs just seems odd all 4 stopped working after only 3 days.The only thing I have done that could have made a difference is add a twin battery system to run the winch but I'm not getting any problems with anything else and that was a couple of months ago.

Hi,My defender has a diahatsu engine and recently the glow plugs needed replacing,been fitted for 6 years,just routine maintenance.I quoted the ref no. off the old plugs and bought ngk they looked the same.Fitted and everything was fine for 3 days,now they have stopped working.I took them out and tried them out tested them on an old battery...nothing.The only thing I can think is either there duds or because they are wired direct to the ignition,this has damaged them,but as this system has in the past worked I'm sceptical about that.Any ideas?

Hi hope someone can help.I have a 90 with a LT77 problem, when cold i can't change down from 3rd to 2nd gear all other gears are fine and once warm 3rd to 2nd is much better,almost perfect even.I changed oil[atf dex3]to see if that helped but it didn't.As it is leaking oil from the front output therefore making the clutch slip i will have to do something soon,is it a new box or an easyish fix.
