Inherently land rovers do have a lot of play in the drive line, end float in the diff, splines at each end of drive shafts and a cv joints in the swivel hub. Then you have the prop with a splined slider and 2 uj's befor you get to the centre diff in the transfer box. Either get a someone qualified to look at it or compare it with another for starters. Also worn bushes in the front and rear tie bars can add to drive line shunt.
