The fantastic Tixover quarry is on the Cambridgeshire / Leicestershire borders in Rutland a stones throw form the A1 just north of Peterborough. The site has everything from big hills, to deep water, rocks, and of course mud, the perfect location for a winch challenge. Cost for the event is £65 if paid in advance by PayPal, £60 by bank transfer or £70 on the day, how ever places are numbered so if you do not pre-book we can not guarantee you a place. We have had a flurry of last minute entries, please DO NOT pay by bank transfer, this option has now closed as we are unable to validate payments. Entries can still be paid for via PayPal, however this option will only be available for a couple of days or so as we are very close to being fully booked. We are holding a family punch at Slindon near Chichester in sunny West Sussex on the 15th of Feb. The event is suitable for standard vehicles up to full on challenge spec, the idea is to find as many punches as you can, some will be easily accessible others will require some off road skill, there will be a few you can only get with a winch and a couple of full on winch sections, hopefully something for everyone. Round three will be held at our own site set in 130 acres of beautiful East Sussex countryside just out side East Grinstead. For those that have not been to us before we have everything you could possibly want at a offroad site, rivers to drive along and cross, water obstacles, bomb holes, rutted tracks through the woodland, gullies and side slopes, our man made obstacles, and of course mud ! For those that have been before we have added a new section to the site that has never been driven, and have added new routes to some of the existing challenge areas and of course we have the new redoubtable "Logstacle" that should separate the men from the boys. The site will be open from early Saturday morning for those wishing to camp and we'll be having a bit of a party on Saturday night for those wising to party. I've got one on the wifes 90, it allowed both "in" and "out" buttons to be pressed at the same time, resulting in a blown winch motor, I modifined the handset by fitting a sprung rocker switch and it's been fine since. I have seen the running on problem on a friends setup, turned out to be somone else on site with the same unit. Personaly I run a Lodar, used and abused an never had any issues.

Mud Monsters will be running a family punch hunt at some point this year, punfches will range from very simple to extreme, with most being doable with just one winch and set out to try and be non damaging. Not sure on date, but probably one of the summer months,

Finally got the 300Tdi into the project and fired her up, engine idles but will not rev, I've heard that if left, there is a component in the injector pump that seizes/gets gummed up, can anyone advice please which bit I needs percussive maintenance, and how big a hammer I should use ?

So it will soon be with us, the final round of the 4 part challenge series. This is to be held in our private site in East Sussex. 150 acres of rivers, woods, muddy bogs and bomb holes, what more could you want ? We would like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors so far. GOODWINCH, ASHCROFT AND 4x4 SOLUTIONS, this round will be sponsored by MUD SPORT, so we'll have some excellent prizes. On site will be burger bar, toilets and even a big marquee for a party on Saturday night, we plan to put on two fun stages as well on the Saturday to give you some thing to do. Event will consist of two timed stages on Sunday and many different types of winch section and stage, up to 50 punches in about 25 stages ranging from easy to very hard. Site will be open from 2pm Sat to set up and camp, night stages open at 7 pm, lights not needed, you will gain points that will be added to your score on Sunday, No matter if you are a seasoned pro or you first event you will find plenty to do, we have never had any one fill a punch card so you can be sure you won't have to try any thing twice. Mud Monsters run some of the biggest well turned out events in the south east and are reputation for putting on quality events is second to non, also at only £60 we are trying to keep the price down. Please note that our events do get very busy, you must also pay on line unless you have arranged otherwise, as we need to send you out some paper work to fill in and bring with you. Glad you enjoyed it, round four is on the 4th of September, at the main Mud Monsters site about 3 miles up the road, much more spectator friendly as you can access the whole site rather then just the 50% access you had yesterday, can't promise the same weather however.

Hi Brad, Spectating is free, we do ask that kids wear as high viz top, if you don't have one we sell them for a couple of quid in the burger van. Spectator entrance opens at 9:30, this is beyond our control so please don't try before, as there is no other parking.
