Hi just had same problem changed xyz but it was the ecu under front seat passengers

Hi mate i hope this helps had same problem flasing m &s lights defaulting into 3rd , solution after 16 mths of this fault ????the euc under the passenger seat changed and no more problems hope this helps

found problem ! loom from ecu was shorting but thanks just glad i found it

Hi ive a 03 td5 auto it was my loom from the ecu the engine management , its taken 11mths to find the fault do you get the "m" and "s" light flash then its defaulted? i had that had the xyz switch changed then noticed it still defaulted but without flashing..................... reason the wiring had shorted and every so often it will default. i do hope this helps as i know what a pig it can be oh by the way its £204 to replace !!!!!! you could also look at the wiring from the plug on the xyz sometimes shorts

Hi everyone i have a Disc td5 on 03 plate , the heater when turned on sounds like a Harrier jump jet taking off ? why i have no idea, has anyone else had this problem The sound is incredible on 1 its tollerable on full you cannot here your self speak { slight exageration} but it makes the same sound as your Hoover at home blows walm air and cold but what a racket any ideas. One other problem every so often i get the hill descent traction control and abs lights come on ?? reset and everything ok for a while thanks

Hi firstly my thanks for your help, we think its the loom on the gearbox i have been quoted its cheep £235 its 3 feet long wow, they have put the loom back and hey presto it pc is talking now and everything seems ok, but if it goes again then it must be the loom, so where can i get one and how much

No idea it seems to be a pc with which they plug under steering wheel does that help its a proper land rover garage

Hi as previously stated i have a fault on my car { defaulting into 3rd} the garages pc when connected to car cannot see fault in fact the car will not talk to it, could it be the ecu? and if so where do i go for one and how much? also why wont the car talk to the pc any ideas

Hi guys hope you can help , i have 03 Dico TD5 auto , at first it flashed M and S defaulted into 3rd after a reset it was ok for a week or so i;ve had the loom checked the xyz switch changed and still the same. now no flashing lights it just defaults but not all the time garage have had on the pc and found nothing. I was out last week grove 30 miles the hill decsent and abs lights came on did a reset then it was ok parked up for 3 hours on my return travelled 40yrds defaulted no flashing lights it did it 9 more times on the way home with a full reset everytime switch off lock doors leave for a min or two the start up, i have no idea and neither do the garages i yake it too can anyone help please

Hi guys hope you can help but sit back its a long one! 03 disco auto td5 with at first flshing lights "S" and"M" had switch changed still does it only no flashing lights now just defaults into 3rd leave it 20 mins and its ok for a few days, had it on the computer shows nothing had the xyz switch changed still the same. I went out last week the hill descent and several other lights came on did a full reset then it was ok and parked up for 3 hours drove then 20yrds and the car defaulted into 3rd did this then 9 times reseting every time by stopping the car locking leave for 5 mins and start up again!!! 9 times arrived at my friends left it for 10 mins and it hasnt done it since, the garage are great but they as i are mistyfied I've had the loom checked as well but still it persists now i was going to tour with my caravan round britain this year but dont fancy being on a lowloader, i have tried 3 garages now all the same result i even tried a main dealer which cost £380 and its still doing it Help please
