  1. Oh right, thanks Les I didnt know that. Thats sorted that then, thanks very much, Julian
  2. Hi can somebody post up a Land Rover split parts diagram for a 90 2.5n/a handbrake assembly? Just want to check as it seems as if there is something missing from where the expander housing joins the plate, as after ive cleaned and reassembled it with the three metal clips it seems quite loose?
  3. Hi noggy, at last somebody that has the same problem. I thought that it is probably the floor panels, but looks to me to be more likely the underseat slide out panels as they are filthy and have only got half of there seals still attched. And i also think it could be coming in from under the steering wheel somewhere as thats where it seems to come from. Thanks for all your help not sure what you mean western, but the tail pipe is coming out towards the back like any normal vehicle and is sort of dead in line with the back of the tailgate but not out past it so i wonder is it getting sucked back into the ifor williams cab on the back and back through some holes behind me?
  4. No its not mate, theres no blowing at all and ive held my hand around each join and there is no air felt at all,its because the injectors i think are leaking alot again and the fuel is being burnt off on the engine and somehow coming up under the dash i think. So 200tdi is the better option. Great thanks for your advice. Julian
  5. Hey did you find out what the problem was as i have noticed mine is the same?
  6. Hi everyone, im back again. As you will remember I last posted stuff about terrible fumes coming into the cab and problems with stopping the injectors leaking and a air in fuel problems as it seemed as it kept cutting out and i kept finding air in it again and again. Finally I got one thing sorted out as I found out it was a knackered lift pump sucking a small amount of air into the system continually. So changed that. Horrahh! The injectors seemed to stop leaking for a while after alot of fiddling and the pipe unions too. But now they are off again leaking like before, i accept that really i should have never bought bearmach injecotrs in the first place as they are leaking actually from the middle of the injectors as well which is ridiculous. But i was just wondering could this be a problems with back pressure in the engine. I know i need to correctly do the timing and i have recently done a compression test on the engine and the cylinder readings were as follows: Cylinder 1= 320psi Cylinder 2= 360psi Cylinder 3= 340psi Cylinder 4= 340psi Which, going by the guidelines in the haynes manual would mean they are not far enough out of spec of each other, only a max difference of 3psi. I also know i need to get better injectors as these quite frankly as absolute rubbish from start to finish and after having them tested by a diesel engineer showed that they arent atomising well at all. I been checking the Land rover over for gaps and as to where the fumes could get in and to be honest theres quite a few,ha ha, as firstly the doors need replacing and sorting out with news seals ect and floors seals and under seat lift up compartment seals need sorting. Anyway, not to worry too much about all that. Ive replaced one of the four leaking seals on the hubs and also replaced the bearings on the same side and renewed seal on swivel ball. That was fun! Today i decided to find out why the handbrake dosent work, and realised the drum was smeared in oil all round so cleaned it all out and am going to buy new shoes and transfer output seal ect. But lastly I wanted to ask some advice. I am thinking that at some point I would like to maybe put a 300tdi into my Land Rover 90 1985 B reg 2.5n/a. Is there any awkward fabrication needed and would i need a gearbox from a 300tdi or could i use mine. ect ect ect ect ???????? Hope you guys can help me with some advice please? Thanks Julian
  7. thanks irnick but i double checked for extra washers, thanks for the thought anyway.
  8. Thanks for all your help, will let you know how I get on, but wont be able to do alot for a while as its been hammering with rain all day here!!
  9. what would be the easiest way of doing that, and how warm do they need to be???
  10. thanks i will look into that but still need to get the injectors sealing better, how would annealing the washers make it seal better? I will double check that there are no bits on the mating faces as well.
  11. Also Western as for seals being good on the doors, thats out of the window, literally as i have yet to buy new hinges and re-align the doors as are hanging low and not sealing hardly. I will have a look for rubbers in lower parts though, thanks
  12. Thanks for that but i know it cant be them beacuse when i first put it back together it was fine for a while and then has gradually stated to leak more and more from the injector to head joints and i think causing the burning fuel as it stinks under the bonnet of hot fuel and is pouring out of number 2 for some crazy reason. Makes me wonder western if there if something wrong with pressure somewhere in the engine but then i spose that cant be the case as they would all be leaking as much as the other. On the last set of new injectors there was a leak from the actual injector joint, so the way it was built was faulty, i think to be honest looking at these i can see a very small leak i think also from the same place on one of the next batch. Is it me, am i going crazy or is there some crazy pressure problem here or is the fact that these are Bearmach injectors mean that they are prone to this. Has anybody else had problems like this with Bearmach injectors????
  13. thats ok then, so ive put those the correct way up.thanks Western, one thing knocked off the could be list!
