  1. well i get around 125 to 2 36litre sill tanks but that may improve a bit as just had a new vaporiser fitted and as I use it mainly for greenlaning got 265/75/16 mud tyres on it and its an auto so dragging extra weight of tyres takes 47 litres to fill which cost me £25 at present only thing long term need to get tanks relocated to boot to give me a bit more ground clearance cheers Lee
  2. thanks for the piccy finally got my window ecu tonight bit of a pain got it on my table one bad joint resoldered it and I've not done much solderingin the past put it back in and hey presto now have 4 electric windows it was the pic of where the ecu was that really help cheers Lee
  3. had a look at my electric windows tonight removed the switches from center console front work on either fron or rear switches in console but rears do not work on any switch is this still likely to be the ecu or is there something else I am missing cheers Lee
  4. Just a query I am semi interested in a 109 series 111 2.6 petrol straight6 on a 79 plate for best decription it a van type excuse termology so no seats in back has safari hardtop its not taxed or tested but not done many miles since last mot gut says rear crank seal is leaking on standard tyres and rims what things should i be looking for? and is it worth £400 as it stands thinking of selling my Disco for it Any thoughts would be a good help cheers Lee
  5. that should gie you a 200 mile range then very nice cheers Lee
  6. well i broke a tank strap on a pay and play site and my disco is not lifted been told by local gas fitter that tanks themselves are pretty much indestructable its the straps that will give just worried I may rip one off thats all thanks for the info lee
  7. just a quick query got 2 36 litre sill mounted lpg tanks bit exposed when greenlaning can they be relocated to the boot easily enough or have I got to get a boot tank just wondering if anyone else has done this? cheers Lee
  8. well i bought a 95 es couple of months ago with 2 36 litre sill tanks it takes 47 litres to fill as they only fill to 80% and this costs me £23.00 and I get 125miles to a fill so tend to have around 1/4 to half a tank in petrol to give me about a 200 mile range which is great for greenlaning cheers Lee do love the roar of the v8 though it great
  9. ordered a set of pipes from local lr specliast rang today to collect and they are no longer available been supceded by a single pipe and looks like you hve to make up the rest of the connections with rubber so decided not to get it doh bit of a pain cheers Lee
  10. well went to nottingham last night and picked up an alloy boot floor bought off ebay am going to pop rivet it in place (see other post on boot rot) anyway on way back disco stalled at a roundabout thought I had run out of gas so switched it to petrol and away I went again at next roundabout died again but now smoke coming out of bonnet expansion tank was empty anyway managed to limp it to a garage and fill it with water and bought some spare let engine cool and ran for about 15 mins had to pull and top up again then out of water so rang me mate who got me some more water and got the disco home anyway there are 2 metal pipes that run along the top of the right hand rocker cover (v8 in case you were not aware) one goes into a little pipe that connects to the top of the righthand head this is pipe which is split and will get a replacement tonight the other pipe seems to go down to the block both pipes seem to be badly corroded was wondering if these pipes are a part that can be bought easily and if anyone has the part numbers for them? think the water was hitting the electrics which was causing it to die regards Lee
  11. interesting my disco v8 es 1995 has same problem front work fine rears dont work on either front or rear switches so need to find ecu and try and resolder bad joints cheers Lee
  12. where do i get one of them spiders sickers its cool and would give my disco some character cheers Lee
  13. umm if I went for a steel floor then does it have to be a ribbed floor or could it be chequer plate or similar for example cheers Lee
  14. got the common rotten boot floor problem on my disco1 v8 looking to replace it with a new one and have seen an alloy one on ebay at reasonable money my question is this i would be pop riveting it in but a mate has said that it would fail its mot for the rear seat belt mounting point if there are pop rivets in this area is this correct? I thought the seat belt mounting point bolted to the crossmember underneath thanks in advance for any help on this one cheers Lee
