  1. No not yet will put this 1st on the list of things to try!!!
  2. I,m not sure what off set wheels are!!!
  3. Ok 'im going to get a 2" lift kit,was also going to add the wheel spacers, But have been reading up a little about them and some peeps are saying they are not a good idea what do you think guys? are they safe to use on a disco??
  4. Just back from work, Wow lot of advice here!!! I might just change the wheels over to standard at mot time!!!! As they only Rub when turning on full lock!!! I really like the look of the tyres so really want to keep them. So, after reading all the advice would 30mm spacers solve the prob or would that then make them rub on the arches? (they dont at the mo?) These tyres are getting more and more complicated all the time!!! (which is pretty much like my disco which I have only had for three months, it cost me £600, but im now up to £2000 (still love it though!!!)
  5. Woops just noticed I wrote 165!! i mean 265!! Doh!!!!!! they are 265/70 r16!!!!! Sorry guys I was having one of those crazy moments!! Ha no wonder you thought they were small!
  6. No nothing rubs or catches unless i turn a tight corner. The link does not have my sizes, i think these tyres are for a toyota or something like that. !!!!
  7. Hello guys, hope everyone enjoyed the landrover show at billing. Got myself some tyres that are 165/70 r16 I dont know if 30mm wheel spacers will solve the problem of them rubbing when turning tight. Does anyone know? I know there is a wheel/tyre chart somewhere on this site but i cant find it!! (not even sure it has my size on there last time I did manage to find it!! ) Also would anyone know where to find the correct air pressure for these to?? Big big thanks Roo
  8. I have a 300 tdi disco as does my friend(which i drive quite a lot) They both have problems with steering over 60, to be honest I thought it was just a disco thing until reading this post!! Its like it just loses it's control and means i feel i have to really concentrate holding the wheel at this speed!! I know its not the wheel bearings as I have just had 4 new ones fitted!! please let me know when you find the answer!!!
  9. Hello guys, my disco, 300tdi keeps making a clunking sound when I change gear and depress the accelerator, have had it into the garage recently and they changed the rear joint on the prop shaft, I did not take it in for this problem, but the picked up on it anyway and asked if Iwanted it doing, does this now mean that the front joint needs doing too? How come they did not pick up on both joints and only did the rear? any ideas? Big big thanks Roo :
  10. Hello guys, would like to ask if anyone knows a good place to start some off roading in oxfordshire area(nothing too heavy!!) Have recently bought a 300tdi disco(fairly old but love it!!) and would like to take my 13 year old son round a few courses, I do use the vehicle for on road so I dont want to kill it. Checked out a fairly local one to me at avon dasset and it looks pretty severe!!! (or am I just been a weed!). all suggestions(within reason!) welcome. P.S this is a great site
  11. Thanks for some really great advice guys, I re-topped up the water this morning and the heater is back to normal! Have sent it in to a local garage too, so they can give it a good checking over for me. I have been trying to do a lot of the work myself but sometimes I think I have to just bite the bullet and pay for a proffesional!! I'm going to keep trying with the diy work on it, but if I start to get out of my depth(which is not difficult!!) into the garage!! I have always wanted a landrover of some sorts and it was a bit dissapointing that the one I happened to buy had big problems, but luckily this site has been a god send!!!
  12. better get a compression test done I think, will they be able to pinpoint the exact problem?
  13. yeah had the old head checked for cracks it was very badly cracked so bought a recon one that has been skimmed and tested, thought that was the problem!!! the new one has been running for about 80 miles and now im getting the same symptons, which is a real bummer as it cost me £300 quid!!! got new bolts and stuff and torqued it down. Im not one hundred percent sure about the radiator its just i noticed there are a lot of fins missing when i was replacing the head. the heater was running very hot which did make me think the rad was not very good too.Im really hoping it is just the gasket this time and there are no cracks!! would a faulty rad cause the head gasket to go, as it is getting too hot, although the temp guage was showing normal when I was running it and the heater was working?
