  1. Just logged into the LEZ site. My car is a 1986 Range Rover with a noisy, evil smelling 2.8 Daihatsu lump. Looked for Range Rover - not there Tried Land Rover - not there either Eventually found it under Rover! Guess what ... "Not subject to LEZ - Based on the information you have entered and information held by Transport for London (TfL), the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) does not apply to this vehicle" Wasn't thinking of going but I might now! [conspiracy mode] could it possibly be a ruse to deter us from staging a mass rally to protest about the closure of lanes under the NERC bill?[/conspiracy mode]
  2. Go the whole hog and get yourself an original Aeroparts hydraulic drum winch jobbie. Looks the part and will pull the house down. Sits straight on top of the bumper as well.
  3. ... like a dogs dick in a barrel !!!
  4. Q: Why do you never get Jewish morris dancers? A: You have to be a complete prick to do morris dancing ... Q: Why do morris dancers wear bells on thier ankles? A: So they can annoy blind people as well as the rest of us ...
  5. Can you find out how many Land Rovers they own/use/have on contract hire?
  6. Lots of sports cars (Westfield and the like) don't have doors. It takes some getting used to driving at silly speeds with no doors and your backside inches from the tarmac!!! Thought you only needed one mirror?
  7. I'm just down the road in Yorkshire. Just say where and when.
  8. I concur ... the 36's just look a bit big IMHO However: If your engine can pull the big rubber why not keep them for the rough stuff?! General road use might play havoc (?) with the handling - especially braking - and certainly cause a speedo prob.
  9. Well that about buggers that up. Reverse is deffo left and forward but it has 5 cogs - it also has a Diahatsu engine which may account for any confusion over the gearbox. Pardon my ignorance but which box is it?
  10. Thanks for that Dan - Problem is it's an LT95 (I think - reverse is on the left and forward) and there is a lot of dried mud on the couplings.
  11. OK - I know it's April fools day but: Today was the day when I attempted to replace the handbrake cable on my 85 RRC. Removed the centre console (in pieces) to get to the lever end then it seems I had to remove the front seats, seat mounts, carpets, (discovering on the way a few small but significant holes in the floor under the pedals and elsewhere), and completely remove the front floor to get to the other (drum) end !!!!!!! C'mon - there must be an easier way to access the drum end ?!!!!?????
  12. I have seen landies with these fitted though and they look f***ing awful, There's a Landie (90 I think - grey) round here with them on. Sorry if it belongs to anyone here but there are better ways to waste nearly £90 IMHO.
  13. Anyone in favour of kinky rubber boots?
  14. True to thier word Paddocks have delivered 2 shiny new 9000s. Next stupid question: To boot or not to boot? The new shocks came with boots. I know there are divided opinions out there, fit boots or leave them nekkid - If you fit them do you fasten the ends with cable ties to stop water getting in or leave the ends loose to let water out? Which looks best, boots or shiny chrome ? Also - why does the weather always turn shoddy when I have a job to do ?
