  2. No chance of a repair it would seem Front or back tyre? Glad all bar the tyre everyone was ok.
  3. Allisport do them with a breather in the screw on top, How do I know? I have one. If you pick one up at a show it will be much cheaper!!! Hope that helps
  4. check ebay I picked up 2 for £18
  5. If you have a tow bar you will need to remove the 2 pieces of angle that go from the drop plate to the chasis, Give all the bolts a good squirt with WD40 if you can a couple of days before hand. I had to remove and refit my tank a couple of weeks ago and snaped one of the bolts!! If you have the time and inclination once the old tank is removed I would jet was the rear x member from underneath as alot of muck finds its way in here, wire brush it and paint it. Then refit the tank the next day. The fiddly job will be getting the fuel line to do back up on the side of the tank if you try to do it insitu. The main fuel filler rubber will most likely be perished and replace all the hose clips. My best advice would be jet wash it well and truely before hand then locate all the bolts you need to undo then go mad with the WD40.
  6. Its a yes from me. I think you will find the older you get the easier you want to make jobs, especially the laying on your back underneath getting cr*p in your eyes jobs. We've all been there even with safety specs on it still finds its way in somehow. But some might say thats why landys have mirrors that turn out so you can fish the bits out of your eyes with rolled up tissue. You will also find that over time the continual visits to your local landy parts supplier will mean you get on first name terms with them and things should get a fair bit cheaper!
  7. Thanks for your post Paul When I removed the tank there was close to 25 liters of diesel in it and I checked to make sure the pick up wasn,t cut short. It was just a bout 5 mm off the bottom of the tank. Thanks for the thought as all suggestions are being investigated.
  8. Here we go. Charged up the battery and broom away it went, I'm not falling for that though as its just a little trick to make me go out and break down again. Who says cars dont have personality!!! So its had a some surgery at the rear end ! Fuel tank drained and the fuel was clean. Tank removed, flushed with fresh diesel and all pipes blown through with air. Fuel lines blown through and all old fuel removed er on the garage floor lol as it shot out and missed the bucket. All now replaced. Had the EGR thing off the top of the fuel pump all seems ok. Checked for 12V on the fuel stop solenoid which I have (with ignition on) and can here it click when the wire touched to male spade terminal on top. Its running again, I'm just expecting it to do its thing again just once I'm far enough away from home for it to be a pain in rear. Any other suggestions from anyone please. Thank you
  9. Its looking that way with the fuel system. The fuel pump has a 3 wire plug coming out of it that connects to the loom. Which colour wires am I looking for the 12V across? At least it wasn't raining today when it died!!! Cheers guys
  10. The problem I thought I'd solved has returned with a vengance to the point I had to be recovered home today In trying to sort this problem out I have: Replaced the lift with a new delphi part New fuel filter New air filter Taken fuel cap to bits and lubricated Had fuel filler and breather pipes off to check they are clear Turbo hoses off and checked for delamination Could this problem somehow have anything to do with factory fitted 2 button alarm? Any help would be appreciated
  11. 'Wrong turn' springs to mind if anyone has seen the films !!! lol
  12. looks like you got your money's worth out of that. lol
  13. I have one in the roof of my 90 and as said they do make heavy items sag and bounce around which can be distracting, I mainly use mine to carry and air out my sleeping bag as it can be layed flat and is light so doesn't droop down. I have the mud stuff version which does come with a large amount of clips but it does not cover the entire rear roof space of a 90 just to make you aware. I use it because I have but if/when it breaks I wont be replaceing it!
  14. Should your vehicle be recovered as a result of someone else's tracker how would you feel?
  15. The other side I like to this lock is that it makes your rear door very identifyable and difficlult to resell as who is going to want a rear door with 3 holes down the side. Next on the purchase list me thinks. Thanks for your time
  16. Hi Where did you purchase said locks? Thank you

  18. Hi To get the neatest termination which will also be the strongest a hydraulic crimper is needed ££££££££. This would mean the wires would be what is known in sailing terms loadbearing (holding up the mast). You can also get hand crimpers that look alot like bolt cutters with different jaws on them, these would most likely be fine for your needs. It is also possible to get the wire covered in plastic/rubber these are usually used on guard rails along the side of yachts. The plastic will crack over time and if used as a brush wire I guess it would happen sooner rather than later. All of the above a yacht rigging company would be able to do for you. I have seen short bits of hose pipe used to cover over frayed ends also electrical tape it really depends on what level of finish you are after. I worked in the marine industry and I've seen some right lash ups.
