  1. I've given it a wiggle, I guess its continuity test time. Going to wait for a bit of day light and I am going to pull the intercooler hoses aswell. To me it has to be fuel or air starvation.
  2. Its happened a few more times today, I thought the fuel lift had solved the problem but alas no. Its seems strange how it is intermitant making it rather dificult to track down the pronblem. So far replaced the air filter, fuel filter and fuel lift pump along with making sure the fuel cap is breathing. Would the EGR setup cause any of these problems??????
  3. Well, having been out for a test run it did have a short repeat of before but for now seems to have sorted itself out. All I can think of for that was I hadn't managed to bleed all of the air from the system. Only time will tell. Many thanks for people time and suggestions. Ian
  4. The bicycle style locks with a steel cable tend to rattle less and you can usually pass the end through a wheel stud whole.
  5. Slighty different tact here. How about Something along the lines of a length (sure you wouldnt need much) of seat belt type tape/material with a handle/loop in one end and the other attached to the seat belt anchor point between the middle and drivers seat. This could then be tucked out of the way when not in use and saves you drilling holes in various places. Just a thought and should be pretty straight forward to make and not cost much either.
  6. First decent break in the weather and I've changed the fuel lift pump, its test drive time now so fingers crossed.
  7. Hi All Why do things go wrong when its cold & wet !!!! Vehicle: Defender 110 Year: 1999 Engine: 300 TDI Problem. While driving along quite happily when using a bit of acceleration the vehicle just cuts out/dies or seems to then as soon as you release your foot off the accelerator pedal it carrys on going not at speed just at whatever the peddle is at. Its not specfic to any gear just acceleration. Its had a new air filter and a new fuel filter as it feels like its being starved of fuel somehow, almost as if a fuel pipe is being sucked flat and on release of the pedal its returning to shape. I've lubed up the fuel filler cap to try prevent any vacume forming in the tank. Any ideas? Cheers people.
  8. Is the key/ barrel partially turned? If the key has snaped and the barrel hasn't been turned you may extract the remaining part of the key with a strong magnet. Worked for me in the past.
  9. How about the green oval with LR4X4.COM in the oval ? With a slogan wrapped over or under it? Should be simple to embroider as well I would have thought.
  10. Hi all I have no idea how to do this but I've seen in the past a vote system on here. Would this be a good idea to aid the choosing of a colour for the clothes??? ie click for blue, green, black etc etc...... I'm sure a computer wizz will be along soon or someone will tiddle on my fire.
  11. How about 'The best 4 by forum by far' or 'The best forum by far' Sorry if it used else where but I dont really look on any other forums
  12. Sounds like a great idea. How about a fleece and wooley hat? Put me down for a Hoodie and T-Shirt in 2XL please.

  14. How long have you had it, it may have had a complete replacement chassis before you owned it. Just a thought.
  15. Thats a 15 year rolling date. So give it a year and the car will be fine to go.
  16. Its closer to Fort McMurray where all the work is. That would be my guess. Or maybe its the shopping at the rather large mall.
  17. These are pretty good. Click And the battery drain is pretty low too.
  18. I think you have an alarm push plunger under the bonnet by the bulkhead. Have a look and see if you have any corrosion build up on it or the wires. Mine played up on my 110 1999. I got 2 honks out of the horn though with the lights on. Mine also played up after rain. Hope that helps
  19. How much of the original dash is remaining between the bottom right of the console and the steering column? i.e. Could you fir 4 carling switches in the space? I'm a short arse and never going to catch them with my knees!!!!!
  20. When you have the complete seats out this is a good time to hoover and clean the area behind the bulkhead it you have one and to get at all the crud on the seat box! When you have the seats apart, if you have the time I also found it worth while giving any visible bits of the frame and base a blast with some black spray paint. Just depends how nice of a job you want.
  21. I did mine a while back, the first one will be a bit of a learning curve. Depends how you do it. The seat bases are pretty easy, I did both of these first to get to grips with things. Next I then did the seat backs. The hardest part I found was pulling the back done while turning the clip in. (You'll find out what I mean) All that is really needed however is an extra pair of strong hands. Moan about britpart we all do but they do a dvd that comes with their seats and its reasonably helpfull. Hope this helps.
  22. yeah scrapping frost off the inside of the window is always interesting first thing in the morning!!!!
  23. Guessing you have seen the one currently on flea bay
