  1. I'm in the process of removing my dash on a 1994 defender 90.

The bit I'm having a little trouble removing is the grey trim that is infront of the the vents/flaps. I have pulled out the 2 large grey plugs however there seems to be 5 or so little grey plastic nail looking things holding it in place along the bottom and they appear to go into the bulkhead.

Any help on removal and or part numbers to replace them as they seem pretty well stuck in, so I'm guessing they will need replacing afterwards?

    Many thanks

  2. A big plus to this console is that if you deside to change your mind about the layout after a while then you can just unscrew the facia and buy another front part in any colour from the ones available, change your dials/stereo/etc around and refit. That makes it pretty flexible in my opinion not to mention much more robust than the plastic ones that are being sold at not much difference in money.

I've had a plastic one and they scratch so easily and in some places their so thin, problem being I found this out after I'd bought it and not before.

Just so no one gets their knickers in a twist I have no connection what so ever with Raptor Engineering other than being a happy customer.

  3. I currently have a delphi one on the front of my defender at the mo. I was just looking through ebay and saw the said beasty and wondered if anyone had one and how it performed. The next one I will be going for will be from OME. To be honest I can't see how it will work when being extended, Compressed yes but not extended.

  4. I use the Halfords pro tool kit and it has to be said I think its fantastic value for money. I to have replaced the bit of foam inside (bubble wrap works pretty well and is real easy to come by). I've broken a couple of the 1/4 drive sockets over the years and you dont even need the receit to get them replaced!!!

I was so impressed I went and bought the black pro tool cabinet and tool chest.

I think the only bit they wont replace is the ratchet insides.

  5. Hi

I'm Looking to put rock & tree sliders on my 90 to replace the existing plappy bit of ally along the sill.

The question being that there's alot of difference out there in price for what is a very similar product, having looked around there seem to be some welded in sheds right up to the mass produced factory turned out numbers.

I realise that there will be a difference in the thickness and quality of material used along with hot dipped galvanising and plastic coatings or just sprayed.

I'm trying to find out which are the best ones to get for strength and life span?

I would prefer the tree slider to be of the bent rounded end style with a black finish.

Can anyone suggest the best to go for from their experiences.

    Many thanks
