  1. I have a P38 that I am having loads of trouble with. When it has run it was ok, but intermittent. The more I have tried to fix it the worse it has got. It now has no spark and it won't talk to hawkeye. We tried a recoded "unlocked" Ecu but it has made no difference. It's had new plugs, new crack sensor, new llamas sensors, new coil pack. It turns over, there's fuel pressure in the rail. We tied buzzing through the wiring loom , even changed the OBD connector, cleaned the bcem connectors, etc etc. Nothing! Still no hawkeye cons and no spark. Any ideas? It's a '95 4.0 V8 with the GEMS ecu
  2. I suspect this is the best Land Rover parts shop in the country and if you are in Bristol they are a must. I've used Pete for 10 years. Always the best service. This is the only place I buy parts now. I've tried Paddocks and Craddocks and the rest but there always seems to be some sort of problem. You may pay a fraction more at Christian Autos, but what you pay is worth every penny for service and support.
  3. If you don't like NERC 2006 and the close of all the RUPPS, now is the chance to have your say. The UK’s Coalition Government has said that it would repeal some of the ‘bad laws’ introduced by the Blair/Brown administration, and that Deputy PM Nick Clegg will be compiling a list. Well the list is open at the link below. http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/repealing-unnecessary-laws/nerc-legislation However, it closes tonight so you must register asap. See attached LARA letter for more deatils. (Sorry this is so late. I am suprised it wasn't noticed earlier and generally circulated around the 4x4 comunity - still not to late - yet). 4. Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone knows of, or is interested in adventure challenge events that involve offroading? The Camel Trophy and G4 challenge have been hugely popular and successful over the years, but generally unobtainable to most normal people. There are plenty of outdoor adventure races involving Mountain bikes, orienteering, canoeing etc, but are there any that also involve 4x4s as well? I am a true weekend warrior, who likes to swap his Mondeo for either a Landy or a Mountain Bike at the weekend and get out and get dirty. While I can do this at leisure when I have a free weekend, I’d like a bit more of a challenge. Where is there an event where me and a mate can throw our bikes and a tent in the back of a Landie, strap the canoe on the top and head out to Wales or Scotland or the Peak Ditrict for a full-on weekend of adventure? Where is the mini-G4 available to anyone or everyone? I am sure there must be like minded people out there who Bike and Run and Climb and Canoe and own a Land Rover/4x4 and want to use them all. If any one has any comments or ideas or would like to take part in such a event let me know. Cheers Tom

  6. Not sure we could fully recreate the camel trophy, and the trouble with both the camel and the G4 was they used selection progams that made it very hard for mere-mortals to take part. What I want is a weekend version based in the UK, that any Landrover (or other 4x4owner) can enter. Any ideas on what events you would like to include?
