  1. Hi I also have a blue 1991 200tdi 90. To fit bigger tyres, (33 x 12.5 x 15), on i had to have the exhaust changed. I had the rear section removed along with the muffler and had an exhaust shop make me up a new piece that came through between the tub and the chassis and exited higher and closer to the back. Ross.
  2. Might be worth a mention, I also have a 200tdi defender 90 with a discovery rear axle and recently i fitted some discovery freestyle alloys to it. All i had to do to make them fit on the front was: 1] Remove split washers under the drive flange bolts and loc-tite the bolts back in. 2] File off a sharp edge on the hub. (minimal filing required). Just make sure the orange section in the above article is clear of rust and paint flakes. The only thing here is the center caps of the alloys must be left out. They look good on the back though. I was expecting I would need a spacer aswell however after playing around for a while they now fit great. Defender TD5 alloys are not the same unfortunatly (speaking from experience). Ross.
  3. What alloy wheels are you going to be using?
  4. This is exactly what happened to me, changed the slave cylinder and master cylinder, re bled the system and was away again. The slave cylinder was full of crud and would have been the problem.
  5. The disco transfer box will make the 200 tdi do less revs than the defender one.
  6. A few contradictions there! Nissan diesel, Toyota landcruiser, International.. lol
  7. Thanks for the pictures people! Gruntus - yeah that would be good to see if you have a picture Cheers
  8. Hi there Does anyone have pictures of Defender 90s on discovery steel wheels? I would be interested in seeing some (in particular a blue 90) before i go ahead with a purchase! Thanks, Ross
  9. Thanks guys, I shall have a search for some gl4 spec. Does the same go for diffs and swivel housings? What does the manual say about them? Cheers
  10. The same goes for me here in New Zealand. Just wanted to check as have heard stories of gl5 spec oils with the extreme pressure additives "eating yellow metals" such as brass etc.. And I am unsure if there is any of this (Brass etc) present in the LT230 transfer box? Mine has just started to leak so just checking before toping it back up.
  11. Hi there Just wondering if it is ok to use castrol epx 80w-90 (gl5 with extreme pressure additives) in the transfer case as opposed to ep 80w-90 ? I have a 1991 200tdi ninety cheers
  12. Muchly appreciated Western I have just measured the one on my landie and it is 255mm, do you know of yours to be the 'correct' length? I since have been reading up the posts on the olive on the bottom of the dipstick tube moving so i shall look into this! Thanks
  13. Hiya, Just wondering what the length of the dipstick tube is (or should be) from the top of the nut to the top of the tube? With the dipstick out of the way.. Cheers
  14. I am surprised to say that the Land Rover has very little or no leaks at all! Only the pinion seal on the rear diff leaked a bit but i have since put a discovery rear axle, diff and disk breaks in etc I have found the forum very good so far and great to look around, Thanks guys
