  1. after my power steering failing the other day i have stripped the pump to find that the high pressure relif has seazed, does anyone now were i can get one. cheers mike
  2. Teen I say I just got the letter back there were a few letters passed back and forth
  3. just here to pick everyones brains. my landrover has been in bits for 4 years whilst i have done some work to her. got her running and back together finally but since the rebuild my powere steering has had a high pitch whine, only on full lock at when at high revs, bled the system a couple of times and tightend the grub screw to get rid of the play. Took her out last week and got her up to speed, steering felt fine but the noise stopped, so i thought great its fixed itseld, wrongggggg got to the next roundabout and the was no power steering, just nice and heavy. Got home and noticed some fluid around the power steering box and resevour but could see any signs of leaking, the pump was still spinning but now fuid seemed to be moving around in the resevour. has the pump failed or has the box. cheers mike
  4. so sent my letters to the dvla showing pictures and explaining exactly what i have done. Had a letter back the other day and all they asked for was a modification list, reciepts for purchases and to fill out a first time regastration form, so luckily no sva needed, all taxed and road legal now
  5. Yer I would be happy if it needed an Iva, like u sed it would be piece of mind, will just have to see what the dvla say back to me, will keep u posted
  6. just thought i would add a few more pics
  7. cheers dude and any advice on getting it thro would be much appritiated
  8. thanks guys, with the chassis in is still the same length but i chopped of the rusty rear crossmember and fabricated a tray, i would rather go down the legal road even if it is a nasty one, spoke to the dvla and have to send them the v5 with a cover letter of the changes i have made, will get this done and see what the come back with, just am not to sure on wether to say i have rebuilt the whole car or just modified it but i suppose this wouldnt make a difference as they will see what i have done when the inspect it. what kind of paperwork would i need to get it thro the test, is it just a build photo log and receipts. thanks for your help
  9. hi guys, just finished my project, taken a while but just passed her mot last week, only thing im unsure on is what to do with the dvla, she used to be a hardtop, do i inform them of the changes and if so what would i class it as, a amature rebuild or a radical modification. or do i just risk it and wait until the pull me and play dum as i have received an mot since the work has been carried out. i know you guys probably here this all the time, just after some advice off people who have done it before just so i dont go and say the wrong thing and mess it all up.
  10. Just purchased a superwinch ep9, does anyone know how to wire a carling switch from the cab into the winch Cheers mike

  12. thank you guys much appritiated, its an l-reg 90 200tdi. When i bought her the fuel gauge wasnt working but never tried to fix it as i knew i would be stripping it, but once i stripped it i found there were no wires going to the fuel tank sender, were on the main loom do the plug into or do the go straight to the gauge. cheers mike
  13. started re-wiring lately and am strugaling with the main bulkhead loom, my dad stripped the loom at and didnt label anything so not got a clue were most things go, got her started and runnig fine, lights are a bit intermittent, think i have an earth or 2 missing, cant seem to figure out the wiring for the fuel tank sender and the hand brake and gearbox sensor, any pics of all these and of the dash board wiring and were the rear loom connects to the main loom. also have a gold resistor in the drivers side front wing, what is this for cheers mike
