well i built and now sold to a fellow club member a 6x4 2b fc, this was a blue crewcab and recovery lift on the back. i fitted a perkins 4236 standard series gearbox and over drive and i was clocked at 76mph on motorway was a little interesting yet fun!!!!
i still have a fc with 200tdi and disco gearbox and power steering much more refined
hi does any body have the size of the ball bearings in the 8274 winch brake, my clip flew off when winching and shoot the balls into the mud
I am aware how many balls there are just not sure on size, i dont want to buy a complete GP kit as the rest was new
This is the first punch event I ever did,!!!!!!!!!
turning up in a 110 and a disco tdi turned a few heads and got a few smiles to say the least.
but i must say it was in at the deep end and Martin did say we had certain style with the bigger trucks (what did that mean martin???)
i must add it was a v v well organised event and set up v v well and any one who is looking to get into the sport then have a go.
if unsure about anything martin and his team well point you in the right direction im sure.
well hope to be attending this event so come on guys and girls get out there!!!!!!!!!!

hi,
i think im right in saying that the latest gaskets where of the pressed tin variety with a raised centre ridge that is compressed when the bolts are tightened down to make a water tight seal.
These gaskets were an replacement of the old paper sort.
great event great to see so many trucks out again even thou i didnt get on site until after midnight
shame or day was a little shorter than we hopped
after recovering zim the 2 wheel king back onto 4 wheels we managed to mate the cooling fan into the rad, big puff of steam game over
thankyou to bob for offer of spare rad and thanx to rachel for taking me and helping get it out only to find it to big !!
great event and see you all next time
no its not drive comes into centre axle and out of the back, thus both rear axles are driven at the same time
that is the reason i fitted free wheeling hubs to the rear axle
yea i used to have a 6x4 2a forward control that ran a dead back axle
the reason for freewheeling hubs being in fitted is because it used to bust shafts on long road runs so this will stop any wind up i hope
no its not selectable, both rear axles drive all the time
ive fitted free wheeling hubs to the rear axle to reduce wind up on road etc and reduce drag on tyres
well just like to say thanks to neil and the crews for a great season, shame not as many trucks out but i think its fair to say we all had a great time
plenty of fun around he fire and helping others when they in the ................
we finished year off with a bang
