  1. Just go to a proper air line/ hydraulics stockist, easy to find and best prices and always insist on pcl
  2. Dont be a girl just put ear plugs in to stop the sparks hurting and get on with it|!
  3. And the bottle needs to have the red bar code tab otherwise it cannot be exchanged full stop
  4. LRA was more gay than a hot tub full of men with moustaches
  5. I aggree it was just a dumb cliquey forum with virtually no useful tech , with people starting threads to almost have private conversations in, or to congratulate each other. That said the layout/format of the site was near perfect from a user point of view.
  6. Trouble with the parker machine ,it only does parker type all in one fittings so you have to keep complete fittings of the same type for different hoses grades instead of just different ferrules. I did buy my machine as I got reamed by pirtek one too many times, which I suppose was a bit mad
  7. I do it for a good price too! But not mobile
  8. Pirtek, hose docter etc but the price will painfull maybe £80 per hose, secondly Ive never met a hose "docter" with any real hydraulic knowledge or worthnwhile brain power.
  9. Nothing to add to the above other than tig is my prefered, though there has to be enough weld bead as is specified on structural drawings for other critical/load bearing parts. All to often one sees a tig weld with just a surface fused joint and undercut
  10. If you cant work that out, dont try to repair it
  11. No conversion is hard, making it look right and the dynamics and driveline angles are vital, secondly the cummins is quite capable of ripping a landrover to bits if instaled wrongly (A tuned cummins can snap a dodge chassis) Other than that fuel economy is better than a tdi if driven carefully and hills are no longer even noticed
  12. divorced lt230, I would keep permanent 4x4 to spread the power around the axles and props.Gazza and wjet on this forum have done the same conversion, there is a build up thread on lr addict forum of mine and wjets conversion titled 110 owner
  13. With my 6bt landrover with 6 wheels a hiab and 3t all up weight I only used 3rd and 5th gears. You can get different springs to change the max revs of the engine, not enough revs for 100 though
  14. baileigh rdb50 , couple of hundred dearer twice the machine, can bend 2 1/2 tube with one hand
  15. Its easy to do a cummins, lt230 handles it easy, daf gearbox is zf 5 42 same as f350 so easy to conveert from forward control Remote transfer box and I even make a silicon hose kit for the install(one piece no joints)
  16. They are not pikeys they are charming travelling people who earn a few pennies doing odd jobs and maybe a bit of scrumping As I said before in another thread, I know for a FACT pikeys are taking a interest in landrovers in a big way, and the police dont care
  17. I was thinking of that idea at one time though I didnt believe the market big enough to justify development and the lack of space (in length) for a clutch mechanism
  18. I build proper 6x6 splitter boxes, anyhow a pal of mine was too mean to buy one off me so he bought a pair of these off ebay from those engineer without brains fools. The design is flawed anyway, but the workmanship on these is a disgrace cardboard to shim the second pinion , cereal packet gaskets, hacked and ground faces , not machined no diff pegging etc etc He promptly sold them off back on ebay to portal rover in whose hands they failed almost immediately. I contacted the builders and told him he was a disgrace but I got no comment
  19. Snap on all the way, though you need to find a friendly dealer so you dont pay full retail.Joint second goes to facom and Ingersol rand though they are dearer than snap on.
  20. If anyone is stuck for hydraulic hoses I make them at honest sensible prices.
  21. I think I would rather change/modify the dumbirons /chassis mounts to correct the castor and pinion angles that way you get your full amount of lift and dont have the problem of finding or making longer u bolts and rocking your axle back which will loose most of the lift you have gained.
  22. True, but they are not dana 45s they are gm10 bolt 8.5"
  23. They are 64.5" wide(good steering lock and link triangulation me thinks). I think the type is chevy 10 bolt. Drivers side diff and centre rear. Looks like high steer will be easy too.
