Thanks Ross, that's all quite clear, thanks for that π
I was thinking of using 2 valves one for each of diff lock and hi/lo and mounting them so that orientation is the same as the transfer lever, so side to side for diff lock and forwards/backwards for hi/lo π

Yes John, trick seems to be to rotate the diff lock operating arm through 180Β° and come from the other side.
Yes please to the actuators ! I presume they'd have to have air at both ends to work.
The air valve choice seems bewildering, presumably I need a type that will operate in both directions.
What air line should I use ?
What are and why would I need restricters, Ross ?
As you can see I haven't got a clue at the moment !

Has anyone here done it or have the knowledge to share to be able to do it ?
There are kits out there but every one I look at is sold out.
Would like ball ended lever valves for operation, used like little diff lock levers π.
I haven't the first clue in what to look for π΅
I really like the look of this one which is compact and tidy but is sold out

Thanks chaps, I've been out and checked and I have the brackets with those pins. Looks like I'll have to remove the Tdi brackets though as I think they'll be in the way.

I bought some cheap ebay white stop and tail bulbs (for my side light/ daylight running), they were garbage and lasted 2 months or so.
I replaced them with expensive Halfrauds bulbs that were identical to the cheap ebay and lasted similarly.
I replaced them with bulbs from classiccarleds at the same price as Halfrauds which were in another league, much heavier and more robust. One expired but I think that was due to the holder. Its replacement along with a new holder has been fine. They get my vote.

The Grenadier and the Pretender are nice new cars, nothing more. Soulless creations.
They certainly are not nor will they ever be utility vehicles out of the Land Rover utility mould.
It's unfair to expect them to be.
They are what they are, lifestyle vehicles for people with no lifestyle.

I do the same as James with a Samsung tablet and use Co-pilot for road use, Memory Map for laning and Guru Pro for off the tarmac abroad.
Download maps prior to trips, tethered to phone for t'internet, built in GPS, slim size and proven reliability in use.
And you can look at porn on it when you're not driving π what's not to like ?

It's a very common set up on M57 conversions with the 6hp and seems ideal for running across the European motorways, 6th is only slightly higher than my current set up in 5th with 200tdi, lt77S and 1.2 transfer box @ 2300rpm and 70mph. If my 200 can pull it then I'm fairly certain something with double the power and torque will manage π
Changing ring and pinion is not a particularly cost effective way of altering ratios for me especially when I have access to 1.4 and 1.6 gear sets for the transfer box.
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to prepare your considerations. Unfortunately I'm unable to open the .pdf files π is anyone else having trouble ?
