  1. Every morning the the rear is sitting on the bump stops. It seems as though its the near side bag thats leaking. Can I replace one bag or do I need to replace as a pair. Ive also heard about replacing the bags with coils, Is this a good idea and does it change the ride much.
  2. I think Im sorted. I had the leading and trailing shoes on the wrong way round. Cheere for the advice
  3. Im having problems bleeding the rear brakes on my 109 (servo assisted). I have fluid coming to all cylinders but still have to pump twice to get a good pedal which goes soft when released. Ive checked for leaks and all is fine If I clamp of the rear flexable pipe the pedal is prefect. Ive pumped about 3 liters through it over the past month or so. Any advise welcomed
  4. Ive just finished painting my 109 and I used synthetic coach enamel mixed 50/50. I used 4" gloss rollers and gave it 4 light coats, cutting it back between coats. I reckon it came quit well.
  5. During my days as a Fitter Turner in a cold drafty workshop I used corragated cardboarb inside my overalls. One piece across my back and a piece across my chest. When it got really cold I would add news paper to my boots. At first my work mates took the mickey, but it was not long before they were all following my lead. Give it a go and youll be snug as a bug and it wont cost you a penny.
  6. I rechecked everything and cleaned all contacts yet again and sorted the problem. Engine roared into life last night after standing idle for over 15 years.
  7. I've just finished installing the engine in my project series 3 and am having problems with the heater plug resister. Have cleaned and then checked all plugs and wiring with test lamp and all are fine. I have replaced the resister with another (neither new) with no joy. Both look to be in good condition. On my daily drive there is a blue/white wire which is shown as being connected to one of the terminals'. When I connect this the cold start light does not start to illuminate dimly as it should. When this wire is disconnected the light illuminates brightly indicating a earth fault. I've checked the earths and all seem fine. It has me puzzled. All advice welcomed. __________________
