  1. you are correct in that the tomcat dash is just a bare fibreglass shell and there would be quite alot of work in sorting the heater controls and ducts although not impossible. I dont have a heater at all in my challenge truck as its just wasted weight. And Steve yes i like the dash very much as it's light with plenty of space for switches etc and puts my locker switches right by my steering wheel
  2. Hi Steve ..yes I did fit the one I bought from Jules it was pretty straightforward and I will take a pic or 2 tomorrow and post them up...might be later in the day as the car is still parked inside my coach from yesterdays challenger event
  3. Had a fantastic day BIG thanks to Ade my co driver and the coach made it home safe and sound with no breakdowns
  4. Mines Loaded in the Coach as we have decided to take it and turn up on Sat early evening as nothing major fell off in the coach's test run today. Andrew's to be loaded on the trailer tomorrow....will be fun driving a 56 foot long vehicle !!
  5. All set...hopefully no overheating problems and the front winch jamming on this time . Think its going to be Vans and trailers again as the Coach is being tested on Monday and no time for shakedown runs before Sat
  6. Thanks Guys for all the advice I think we will take the coach and unload in the vistors car park and see how we do from there
  7. Drat thanks Dom... 3 years to start using it then it wont get onto the site !!!
  8. What's the site access like for Large vehicles ?
  9. We will be there (Car 6) and so will my Brother in his truck and if things go to plan we should have our coach there on Sat pm (first time using it since we bought it 3 years ago and it's still no where near finished !!)
  10. Mr Nick you are right Adey did all the hard work for a good 10 mins plus and then I got to have a go !!!
  11. Depends on how good your jetwash is mine is a Karcher 745 so hot and chemical as well , also it depends on the site ie Devils pit clay about 2 hours but Hogmoor Enclosure soil from the Challenger round 1 about an hour

  14. My Brother has just bought a pair of bow motors from Gigglepin and they have a sticker stating 5.6 hp and 4000 rpm so those would be a fair bit faster....interested to see how these perform though as my front xp's are getting a bit old now
  15. Hi Paul Yes I am ready and looking forward to the 1st event Steve Beck
  16. Hi I don't use any springs at all , just fox air shocks
  17. Jay I think you can just turn up and watch but you could call Lucy at challenger 4x4 and ask , their number is 01252 325930 Steve
  18. First round of the Challenger / Awdc event is in Bordon in Hampshire on 22nd March only 52 miles from me in Watford
  19. hmm , i see what you mean JST , it looks like your plastic breather thingy on the drivers side of the engine has the outlet that points forwards going back into the rocker cover just behind the oil filler cap , I dont have that tee on my rocker cover will add a photo later but its dark now. As for the servo a pipe goes from the vacuum pump on the back of the alternator straight to the servo.
  20. thanks Guys I know what I need to do now that's great
  21. Ah thanks Steve NOT on the boost side as tried thanks mate will be interesting as have a rear snorkle with the air filter on the end but will have to get an adaptor for the 50mm inlet hose so I can tee into it
  22. Hi I wonder if you can help me as my 2.8 tgv has a breather pipe that goes no where and this isnt good as its an instant way to fill your sump full of water when deep wading. The pipe in question comes from the plastic breather "thing" on the drivers side of the cylinder head and comes round the front of the engine in a metal pipe just infront of the thermostat and stops . I tried connecting it to the inlet manifold via a drilled and tapped connector but there is such pressure in the manifold it seems to pressurise the whole sump. Any ideas or better still pics Thanks in advance
  23. Hi Bruce What is your new shorter comp truck not ready yet ?
