  1. Thanks for the advice on this but this post was accidentally sent before it was finished, there is an earlier post with more details! The reason i want to fit air is because I do a lot of towing and I already have air helper springs fitted but one burst the other day so I want something more reliable and I don't fancy fitting hd springs as I find them too harsh when unladen. So does anybody know that If I was to fit airbags and a compressor would I be able to control them via a switch on the dash as obviously I won't have the slabs Ecu fitted so will not have the self levelling function , would this ride ok with out the constant pressure adjusting. Any advice on this would be much appreciated as I know I can get the bags to fit but it's whether or not they will work ok, I'm just concerned that they won't allow the axle to articulate if they both have the same pressures in ! Cheers Allen
  2. Hi all I am after some advice on fitting d2 rear air bags to the rear of my d1 with a 2" lift. The reason I want to do this is because I use my vehicle for off roaring and heavy towing and I'm trying to avoid fitting heavy duty springs as I find these very harsh when unladen, at the moment I have medium duty springs with air lift helper bags fitted which were ok but yesterday one of them punctured from chaffing on the spring so I'm looking at fitting something more durable so I thought that d2 rear bags would be a better option if they will fit. I'm not worried about self levelling as that would just complicate things, I was thinking of just using an onboard compressor and just altering the pressures as and when needed! Does anybody know if this would be possible or do you have any better ideas? Kind regards Allen
  3. Hi all I am after a bit of advice on fitting disco 2 air bags to the rear off my 300 tdi with a 2" lift.
  4. hi, The steering on my 95 300 disco has recently become very notchy and a clicking sound can be heard from the area behind the steering wheel and also the steering can be quite heavy at times, I have recently replaced the lower steering column shaft as that was quite worn and i have also replaced a leaking steering box so everything engine side of the bulk head is definately ok. I have seen upper steering column uj's listed on various parts websites so im assuming that you can strip the column and replace this?? can any body confirm this and are there any other uj's on the column that will need to be checked/replaced as looking at the column whilst it is still in the vehicle it's difficult to see anything that can be replaced. thanks in advance Allen
  5. Has any one got a template for a mantec snorkel for my 300 tdi as my wheel came off today taking the wing with it, I've got another wing but can't find the template any where. Thanks in advance Allen
