  1. i had loosen the top pivot bearing. the swivel is swings good and there is end float to the axle shaft . now I just have to shim it up.
  2. i guess I would have to remove everything again. the last time I did the same job. I took out the swivel housing together with the stub axle still bolted on and put back the same way. then I did the shimming of the top pivot bearing. I will try this method again.
  3. yes I did. the swivel housing swings freely with the axle shaft and cv joint inside. but the moment I tighten up with the stub axle it freezes up.
  4. Hello, After replacing the axle half shaft seal in the swivel ball on my defender Td5. upon fixing back the stub axle the entire swivel housing is sieze. it cannot swing. Is there something wrong with my installation. Installation method. 1. Changed axle shaft seal in swivel ball. 2. tighten swivel ball back to axle housing 3. install swivel housing using shorter top pivot screws 4. insert new axle shaft and cv joint. ( axle shaft had a groove at the seal area and the cv joint broke while removing) 5. fix on stub axle. at this stage the entire swivel housing is siezed. any advice what is the problem? regards Jack
  5. HI, My 90 TD5 recently develops a irregular vibration. When I plug in the OBD, it reads injector 2 & 5 Peaked. At time if I read the live data, injector 2 gives a compenstion about +0-15. Has my injector gone foul on cylinder 2 & 5? Is changing the injectors out a manageable task? Any links here? Regards Jack

Would like know if anyone has this problem before. From Hawkeye Live Data. -MAF Idles at 46kg/hr -Driver Demand 1 4.6V on Idle -Driver Demand 2 0.46V on Ilde Any advice is appreciated. Regards Jack

  14. thanks for the input. clutch plate is in the correct facing. the push rod is physically attached to the fork by a plastic clip on the td5. will go get the master and slave tomorrow. may as well change it..considering the amount of work i have done in changing the clutch. seriously is a hideous job to change the clutch.
