My Disco 300tdi has just been written off . It's a manual with all the bell's and whistles (apart from cruise control) . Now there's a Discovery TD5 at a dealer near me , V reg , Red met , with a very similar spec inc CC , BUT its auto . I was just wondering how these auto boxes cope with stress and strain etc . I have the Disco for pulling my caravan 4 times a year and our Pegg uses it for everyday use . Its got 112K with buckets of Service History , started from cold with not a hint of smoke and sounded very sweet . So are these Autos any good ?? Cheers

Yeah , use a good quality gasket (OE stuff ) and some Locktite blue gasket sealer . Just done both mine coz I had the same problem . Belt and braces stuff

I just done both . The P gasket was the metal type and the water pump a genuine LR . I used Locktite Blue gasket sealer on both , belt and braces and now dont have coolant loss ........ happy days

The battery in my latest disco is massive and only just fits ! Its well huge and bran new , the guy said the shop where he bought it from was certain it was the right one

Hoping to go 19th Dec (tomoz) anyone else going ? Its not gonna be to demanding on my everyday Disco hopefully !! Just bought another Disco to turn into an off road toy .. so its a bit of a recce too

Do the front crankshaft oil seal while your doing the belt too

Cheers fella's , I measured the OE speakers and the look like 10cm ones . Gonna price some 2/3 way jobbies up and look at a small bass box with built in amp . Do they need a ISO cable for a head unit or is it plug and play ?? Cheers again

Hello , has anyone upgraded their speakers as mine are carp . It has a Alpine head unit in , so at the mo dont have any bass just tinny sounding music , coupled with shot speakers dont make for a good sound ?? Any recomendations welcome
