  1. small amounts of rain water won't hurt, my 200TDi just intakes from the standard side grille & hasn't given me any cause for concern when raining, it's the big doses of water when wading that cause problems for the engines internal parts.
  2. just done a member search for agrover, just says no result. but another search results with bill van snorkle
  3. That's cos 200Tdi isn't on Microcat, that engine was out of production before Microcat came into use, you'll find both 200Tdi variants in EPC the previous parts system.
  4. Nope, can't be the EGR Valve as that's bolted to the Exhuast manifold & isn't part of the external air intake system.
  5. Probably needs a overhaul & a new slip ring [the bit the brushes run on] 1, IIRC when my 100amp was fitted we had to realign the rear of the casing to set the mounting lugs correctly 2, connectors are different marrelli uses ring terminals on end of the cables [your existing is probably like that already] 3, Marrelli are better in my opinion, there's another thread about alts on here with more info re- Lucas alts 4, IIRC mine was uprated to battery & starter. hth
  6. I remember that. not a pretty sight
  7. EPC tells me that the optional Alt on a Defender 200Tdi was a 65amp & standard fit was a 45amp, I'm sure mine came with a 65amp fitted from the factory. find a 65 or better a 100amp from a air con fitted Disco 300Tdi, but be sure to upgrade the wiring.
  8. having a homer simpson moment were you Doh! happy to help
  9. that one was in one of the LR mags recently, can't find the article at the moment.
  10. Also refer Here if you have a hydraulic PTO fitted for a different tweak to the brake cable bracket, credit to Hybrid_from_Hell for this additional information.
  11. RAVE manual says 45Nm exhaust manifold to head nuts & 25Nm for inlet manifold nuts. in Rave Discovery workshop manual 2nd edition Section 30 Manifold & Exhaust system Specifications,Torque Torque values hth
  12. Neat job Nige & another useful tip for others
  13. What vehicle ? IIRC the 110's rear Salisbury nut is bigger probably 32mm, but don't qoute me, as it was ages since I had to swap the oil seal in mine.
  14. nope, 300Tdi main bearing cap bolts are also 133Nm or 98lbft as per RAVE workshop manual torque settings.
  15. there's a reply to your question bottom of page from white90
  16. Possible, item 27 on your picture above, remove the drive gear & see what state it's in.
  17. you could contact dvla & get the vehicles history from their database, there is a £10 fee IIRC, did it for my 110 after I got it, the info included copies of the first registration when new form & previous last 2 owners. at least ring to clarify the SW on your current V5.
  18. on the inside is the locking button a flat or round, flat type lock button 395037 from chassis number ending 314268 round type lock button MUC1030 upto chassis number ending 314267 I believe you need the top number. the gasket/seal is MXC9455 hth Check your PM in about 10 minutes.
  19. fitting booklet only says for LR vehicle type Defender 90/110, doesn't mention any engine types at all. you planning something then
  20. MY 19J TD was good until it didn't want to play anymore cos of to much heat stress.
  21. Genuine Defender manual states ------------------ 133Nm which = 98lbft
  22. IIRC the 'SW' shown above is DVLA's abbreivation for Station Wagon, Has it always been a TC ? or maybe a previous owner changed it to the current truck cab from a station wagon, but the description looks good & would seem to cover any 90 thats a hardtop or truckcab pick up
  23. absolutly correct Don't even think about using these for any towing or recovery purposes, a pair of jate's with a bridle/towrope everytime, fitted before venturing into any possible sticky situations. be prepared as the scouts would say
