  1. Hi Interesting reply, and worrying. A pipe split a while ago and the other day I had someone come round to repair the pipe and re-gas the system, it was then that we found that the pipe had become porous and need replacing. If what you say about the switch is correct would it make sense to replace the pipes and then re-gas to see if the compressor works ???, also a bit concerned that the air con bloke did not know about this switch Mouse.
  2. HI How will a continuity test tell me if the wire is a live or earth, I thought that all a continuity test did was to find if there was a break in the wire or not. Sorry to seem dim but electrics are not my strong point. Mouse.
  3. Can anyone help with a wiring diagram for a disco 200tdi air con set up,. The clutch on the compressor is not engaging as there is no power to it, I have a genuine land rover manual but there is no wiring diagram but in the text it seems there a three relays and two fuses ???, the fuses are ok so I need to look elseware for the problem. I have been told that I can run 12 volts direct to the compressor to check that it is ok but I don't know which of the two wires is live. Thank you Mouse.
  4. Thanks for clearing that up . just wish landrover would make things clearer sometimes as in the wiring diagram it shows i have heated mirrors, maybe not on my version. Mouse.
  5. Thanks for the reply, but in the disco 200tdi manual it seems to shows one wire as live and the other as earth which is why i asked. it also seems that the earth comes from the heated mirrors which i dont think i have unless they come on with the rear window, the wiring also appears to be connected to the indicators ????. Mouse.
  6. Hi Just had to fit a 300tdi heated rear window into my 200tdi Disco. The problem is that on the 200 both the wires are on the same side (near the hinges) and one spade connector is larger than the other but on the 300 one wire is on the hinge side and the other is on the handle side, also both spades are the same size, can anyone tell me what side is what on a 300 i.e live & negative as i dont want to wire it in wrong and shatter another glass. Thank you Mouse.
  7. Thank you It looks like i will be going for 10 inch rims then, just got a bit of conciern that they will fit under the rear arch o.k, also what offset do i need to look for ???. Mouse.
  8. Hi all The vehicle in question is a 200tdi Disco with a 2in lift. at the moment i an running 265/75/16 on 7x16 mach 5s, i would like to go wider and fit 33/12.50/15s, however i am getting conflicting advice as to if i can do this mainly from firms that are selling the wheel and tyre packages, some say that i need 10 inch rims while others say that 8inch is o.k. what are your oppions please. Mouse.
  9. Just like to say a big thanks to hybrid from hell for recomending Academy insurance. just got of the phone and got a quote £80 less than my old insurers adrian flux, result. Mouse
  10. Thank you mate, job done Mouse..
  11. Hi all I need to drop the roof lining on my 200 tdi, I have got it all loose apart from just over the windscreen, it seems that all that is holding it is the plastic clips that the sunshade clips into, but I cannot see how they are fitted and there is no clue on how to remove them in the workshop manual. Help please before i get flooded out again. Mouse.
  12. Thanks for that, much apprecheted. Mouse. (need to find spellcheck).
  13. Hi there i am in the process of replacing the cam belt on my 200tdi disco but for some reason i cannot see the pictures in white90s tech guide. can anyone tell me what is ment by keeping the belt tight on the drive side??, am i right in assumeing that this is from the injector pump pully to the cam pully around the static idler and then around the crank pully ??, and do i fit the tensioner last Thank you Mouse.
  14. Hi I've done a few of these and as already mentioned you have to remove the dash (the seats and steering wheel are also a good idea) it is a long job but not that difficault just make sure that the heater that you are going to put in works first as it has been known for people to fit a duff unit. Also it is quite difficult to replace just the motor as it is inside the heater box that is welded togeather (plastic) this is not to say it cannot be done but a fully working replacement unit is a lot easyer option. Good luck. Mouse.
