  1. i got one half of a clothes peg wedged in mine between the two panes of glass. dont look the best but no rattle....
  2. but i have skimmed 0.65mm of the head so it should have a different gasket? or not? cheers
  3. originally it had a 3 hole gasket, the piston height will be the same which would mean a 3 hole gasket? i cant work that one out?
  4. just had the head of my 300 tdi skimmed, they had to take off 0.65mm as it was well warped, can anyone recommend which gasket i should use. would i need a head saver or will a gasket do the job? thanks craig

  6. hi i have a 300 tdi out of a disco in my 110 , whats the best way to make the temp gauge read correctly? the gauge works but doesnt read correct( hot). when i had my 90 with a 2.8 isuzu i used a gauge and universal sender from demon tweeks but cant seem to find them now. would a sender off a defender 300tdi work? thanks
  7. hi the channels which guide the front drivers side window are rotten so the window is not coming down square and wont go back up easily. are there parts available to renew these ? if so anyone got a link? cheers

  10. when you mot your truck does it go on the rolling road or not? i have had a few discos a 90 and 110 and they always have , i was speaking to someone yesterday who was horrified and reckons it will get trashed???
  11. i have a 110 csw, the front doors have key holes as does the rear door. the locks are real poor and can be opened with any key. would new ones be just as bad or can i get some higher security ones that i can just replace? cheers

  13. i read somewhere that all wheels should have chains, if you put them on rear then steering affected , if you put them on front then rear can try to overtake you. makes sense i suppose. i would leave diff open unless trying to get up a steep track where i would normally use the diff lock without chains, hope that makes sense?
  14. well after lots of work i finally got it mot'd today, i had a 110 with a 3.3 nissan straght 6 with a nissan gearbox and a lr transfer box, the gearbox went pop so i picked up a disco for the 300tdi............. after lots of head scratching and being told i couldnt fiy the disco box into a 110 i gave it a go. the transfer box is in the original 110 position , all engine mounts were cut off and the engine ,gearbox and t box lifted in ,once the t box was in place i welded on new engine mounts. the engine is more forward than standard but this meant oil cooler pipes, intercooler pipes etc off disco were used. i used the disco steering box so all the pipes connected up. i did away with the middle seat and altered the transmission tunnel for the sticks to fit,the sticks are fine to use and in a natural position. pics are not the best but they give an idea.... so .... it can be done
