If you can pick a super 7 up for your price range than go for that. Ive got a super 7 in the home workshop and its honestly the nicest lathe ive ever used, abit small for some projects but otherwise perfect. Got a larger Emco maximat super 11 at the main workshop which whilst its a very nice machine, the tool post securing bolt has already snapped and the high gear now has a habit of jumping out when in use, im sticking with Myford from now on. I get all mine from a local exhaust fab company, ive got about 4 meters of 35mm stainless sitting on the rack at the moment, shame your not closer otherwise i would have sold you some of that. Try ebay, theres plenty of exhuast components on there aswell. Rich

Guessing by your other post where you mention IR, im guessing your talking about there air stuff, which i carnt comment on. Im talking about there electric stuff. And i can tell you than my dewalt 18v impact will torque up more and release more than my mates snap on gun, which he paid about the same price for and has already killed one battery on. Having said that, i normally hate dewalt, makita all the way, but there impact gun was all i could find at the time and i needed it in a hurry for a job, and i have been very impressed with it considering the other experiences with dewalt stuff. Another brand i forgot about and saw referenced is kennedy, sold by cromwell, ive got a 3/8 socket set from them, and despite the heads of some of the snaller sockets mushrooming from misuse, its been a good reliable set for the money thats really handy to just keep in the car.

Recently ive gone with Snap on more and more, as its getting cheaper second hand and despite what anyone says its still up there with the very best. Admittedly im not a fan of there other products, such as impact wrenches and the like, i think there overpriced and abit crappy, but there hand tools are very hardwearing and very high quality. Teng are my next choice, relatively cheap for pro quality tools, and they have some really nice ideas. And finally Britool, i haven't bought any of there newer stuff but the older 1/4" ratchet set i have is one of my favourite tool sets in my box. As for halfords, my dad uses them aswell as a few other mates and have never had a problem, i dont know what it is thats stopping me buying them, probably the fact i cant put halfords and quality in the same sentence unless poor is in there too, plus im abit of a name snob i think! And Elora, my dad ne again has a set, must be 40 odd years old, he bought it when he was 18, and i used it for the first time the other day and what a tool. Its a half inch set and despite its 40 year old age, the ratchet was as smooth as any of my snap on ones, no play in the shaft, really fine teeth and in a proper metal case. Unbelievable stuff, and i would no doubt be buying some if it wasn't for the price tag. HE priced up a new 1/4" set and said it was something like £250! Rich

Got an Industrial unit about 10 miles from my house, £500 a month plus £150 or so a month electricity (That runs quite a few 3 phase welders though) I work from it aswell so cost is cut right down, racks at the back for storing parts (The work part), small office in the front of it (Work part) then a machine shop (Bit of work but mostly off road making bits) to the side and enough room to fit 3 landys end to end in the space thats left, or 2 if you want to work on them. Interesting. I wonder where LRO got there info from then, it seams odd such a large mag posting false info. Although to be fair to them they did also mention about the km2 being based on the krawler. Rich

It does say that exact thing in the December issues review of the KM2 in LRO. 'So, im the MT was as good as everyone said, why replace it? Simple-new regulations governing the amount of rolling noise that tyres can produce will render the old pattern illegal. Its just too noisy. Before those of you running old pattern MT's complain they aren't too bad, i agree' So what's your reason for thinking this wasn't the case? Rich

Hi, im building a vitara at the moment and am looking for tyres. Its going to be running 4 link rear and X-jointed front radius arms, so there will be plenty of flex and lots of room in the arches, so im thinking 33's will be a good choice. Ive got some brand new special tracks in 265/75 size, but i want something abit wider and less aggressive as im going to be doing alot of miles in this truck, but will also be doing some fairly hard offroading. I know a year or two ago it would have been Bf goodrich MT's and that was that. But theres a few more options now, the 3 im looking at are; Bf Goodrich MT KM2's Handkook MT RT03 Cooper STT And preference in the above or other tyres i should be looking at? I dont want to spend massive amounts of money but if its what i have to pay to get the right thing then i wiill. Its running toyota axles and i do need wheels so fitted to toyota rims would be pretty nice aswell! Thanks in advance Rich

i used your advice and when i unscrewed the fuel filter there was no disel spilling out. so do i need a new pump and does it have to be gunuine?where is the best place to get one. thanks for the help rich
