  1. Kind of private gathering. Not sure if it will happen again.
  2. The last MOT went fine in 2018, but now it's 2020, and The Bee was due for a new MOT in the end of May. But I knew I needed to do some more work on the chassis, so the work was postponed. I should have gone to Sweden to do some serious greenlaning at the end of April, but due to Covid this was cancelled, and was again canceled for us this weekend, as most traveling is cancelled. The car has been neglected since May, and I finally took some days of to do the work on the chassis at the end of August. But when I took out the flooring in the back of the car, I realized that it would take some mor days to get it to pass the MOT. Short story, I removed the body to do what I should have done 5 years ago. Some nights later, and the body is placed "in storage" outside my garage. Now it's time to clean the chassis It will be cleaned, fixed, painted and then conserved with fluid film. And the transfer case is to be rebuilt, and the main gearbox. And clutch will be replaced with a new one. And the body will get som work done as well. Not sure I will manage to get all done within weeks, but I hope to get the body onto the chassis before snow falls. (some time between middle of October and middle of April). But I was thinking of maybe replacing the chassis. Maybe I will think more of this when I start to clean the chassis during this weekend, but who can deliver a new Discovery1 chassis ?
  3. We've mounted a 300tdi dash (similar to D2 dash) in a 200tdi chassis. But we also replaced most of the bulkhead as well.
  4. First off, I'm gone get all whats stored in my garage into the new storage I made at the end of the garage. Then maybe I can get some more work done in there. I have rebuilt my D2 from Auto to manual in that garage, and we've done quite a bit of welding on my min and some other D1. May I could get a D110 in there, but it's to short for a D130. Then there is some service due on my D2, and fitting a Winch and maybe fitting a snorkel and rock/tree-slides (to be made first) Then there is some more service on my Short D1, and remounting a snorkel, new difflockers, rebuild a LT230 and refit, then rebuild another an refit into the 1972RR/Disco92/Disco98 hybrid.
  5. Nn the 300tdi I have seen, there is a transducer that are mounted on the transfer box, with 3 pin connector. So the speedo is in fact electrical driven. Check the transducer for wear, I have a couple in my garage (on the floor somewhere) that are half way broken. http://new.lrcat.com/#!/1231/27317/27318/2046 part number AMR1253, replaced it seems by YBE100540
  6. I dont know of any web picture/movie archive in the club, i guess you have to ask on the Norwegian Forum. https://lrforum.com
  7. You don't _have_ to register in advance, at least not next year. But it makes life much easier for staff if You have registered. And if you want your T-shirt and batches and stuff.
  8. The gathering opens on monday July 13th and closes on July 19th. The camp site will be open from Thursday July 9th. Between 13th and 19th, there will be - greenlane driving, hopefully on normally closed roads, - trial competitions, maybe some team trophys. - Pokerun We hope to include some steam railroad trip, for the youth, there is some go-cart driving in planing, There are some river rafting nearby, we've had at least on trip to a mine not far from the event site. This is in the middle of southern Norway, not far from biggest Zoo in Norway, close to the southern coastline, and not far from the mountains. On the trip home from the gathering in 2015, we drove from Karmøy, west in Norway, and up over the mountain were there still was snow, and down by the camps site for the 2020 gathering. We're also not far from Lysefjorden, with Kjerag-bolten at one end, and Preikestolen on another. So if you want to see the southern part of Norway, you are right in the middle. There is daylight from 04:00 until 23:00. I will not promise that you will see the sun 19 hours a day, but it's been a dry summer the last 2 summers. The image above was taken in the middle of June this year, and June was rainy this year.
  9. The Annually gathering for NLRK in 2020 will be held in the old military site called Evjemoen, in the middle of southern Norway, and will take place between July 13. and 19. 2020 There is the possibility to sleep indoor in old Military sleeping quarters, or if you bring your camping gear, the camp is open from July 9. . Some approximate distances: - 65 km from Kristiansand - 200 km from Langesund or Larvik - 210 km from Stavanger - 330 km from Oslo The official website for the gathering is http://evje2020.nlrk.no, and the Registration (and payment) website is https://deltager.no/nlrkevje2020 There is also some a couple of threads on the Norwegian forum https://lrforum.com The international section: http://www.lrforum.com/forum/index.php?/topic/96750-nlrk-annually-gathering-2020/ The main (and mostly in Norwegian ) thread: http://www.lrforum.com/forum/index.php?/topic/96749-nlrk-landstreff-evje-13-19-juli-2020/ Please don't hesitate to ask if you are interested, and I'll try to answer as best as I can
  10. No, not the centre vent. But you can modify to get warm air out of the vent on right hand and left hand side, to get som defroster like function on the side windows.
  11. Check the connector down in the footwell. Not sure if it's located in driver or passenger side, offside or nearside, but in my LHD, its down in the left footwell, which mean driver side to me. Mine has a lot of corrotion, and are due to a complete rebuild of some sort. replacing the contacts, or just solder every connector instead, I'm not sure. It our only driver at the moment, so I'm not going to touch it.
  12. I was way overdue with MOT this year, should have been in in May, but I choose ignore the date, and do some driving during the summer. We automaticly get a 2 months extension on the MO, so everything was fine when I got back from The Danish LRC gathering by the end of July. Everything except my chassis, and some inner wings.. The chassis was fixed before MOT, but I left the innerwings stuff for later. The guys at the workshop was not pleased with my inner wings, but failed the MOT because of some other issues. Rusty body mount in the left side front, and they "claimed" that the brake pipes was not properly fixed on the right hand innerwing. So back again, I started to strip the front wings, and was planing on doing a lot of welding on the old inner wings. After some more use of wire brush, and thinking , I decided to order som new panels from http://froggatts.co.uk Today 25 Kg of steel arrived at my office. Good delivery from Froggatts and TNT. I think I'll take a few days of now.
  13. That seemed to do the trick. Shorting out those 2 pairs of pins on the 16 pin connector to the instrument panel worked (I was told).
  14. My co-driver has just rebuilt his 6x6, and replaced the old V8 with a TD5. (yes it' sbeen argued that he should have kept the V8, but he wanted a TD5...) The engine, wireloom and the ECU comes of a MY2003 Defender, which also had ABS/TC. As said, this was a MY86 V8, with drum break in the rear, and a reinforced front axle. And there would have been som complications replacing the second axle with a newer one. And there would of course have been some issues getting ABS working on 3 axles. The engine swap has gone well, it drives and brakes nicely. But there is an issue with the ABS warning light in the dash. We've tried to disconnect the WABCO-unit, which I believe is the ABS control unit, and that did not work. Also the brake warning light is on all the time, although there should not be any issue with the braking (except the missing ABS sensors, and input to the WABCO-unit). Does anyone have a suggestion ?
  15. If you google allbrit and Discovery 1(or 2) or defender, you get the old links. Tried now with Google allbrit Land Rover and the links that starts with "allbrit.de/NAV.cfm.." is with part numbers But you wont get newer than td5 Defender/Disco and P38 and no Series either
  16. This was our camping setup when we visited @tuko in september on his Småland Traxx. Me an my wife in the roof toop tent (on the trailer) and my friends in the other tent. A quickup tent for the dinning area. Nice Trip, cant say the same about the weather.
  17. I was looking at Bolt-on-bits grille myself, since the grille on our D2 is kind of broken at some places, but yes, the price is silly. 9399£ ? Was that the actual price, or is there something wrong with the price on ebay ? I bought headlamps and trim surrounds for my 200tdiD1, and was not impressed with the fit. I've later bought a pair of jeep headlight mountings like these . Much better fitment.
  18. I think that trip is kind of a one time offer. This summer, or never ...
  19. Norsk Land Rover Klubb national rally 2018 is in Laerdal, not that far from Geiranger. Picture from testing one of the greenlanes.
  20. The whole family on our way back from a scout camp in 2012. Me and my wife in the roof tent, Oldest son in the hammock outside, and the 2 youngest kids inside the car The closest "neighbor" had a RV-home with boggie, and a tv the size of my windscreen.
  21. I have this on my Bobtail pickup https://www.ebay.com/itm/232274041468
  22. Yes, number 13. When I changed the gearbox in my D2 (auto -> R380), I had an annoying sound that went away when I had a hand on the gearstick. It also helped to tightened that bolt.
  23. Check that the bolt locking the upper part of the gear stick is tightened.
  24. Have you checked how much your 100 amp alternator is feeding your batteries (and other power users?)
