  1. Ok, will have a look at doing this on the weekend. Problem is that it is the drivers side that is lower so with more fuel and a driver it makes the problem worse. I will do it and take some measurements and see what I come up with.
  2. Do you have any contact details? Never been to the site but would like to go and last Sunday of the month is this Sunday it would be good to go along. I am not sure of location of the site either. Do you know what time they will open-close? Cheers
  3. I have used the longlife near Bristol and they have always provided very good quality products. Not sure on the guarentee business but mine put up with 2 years of abuse and never had any issues.
  4. Ok so back to this problem. Firstly I did have the springs fitted on the wrong way. So I spent sometime correcting this and now they are on the right side. So I took it for a little drive to let everything settle and then found a flat bit of road and got out to see if any noticable difference to the height. Firstly it is better and does sit more level than before but it is still not right. Had a good look around all bushes etc and cannot find anything out of place. Also when swopping the springs I changed the spring seats for some new ones. Any other ideas what could be causing this height problem?
  5. Does anyone have any contact details for the local terratagging group to Bristol? Used to go to a few events a couple of years ago but cannot find any details now?
  6. Yes this went from 2 of my policies this year also. I still have one which I managed to renew that kept it but it seems they are trying to get rod of it.
  7. Sorry to hear this. Get some pics up of it so it will be easier for people to spot. Another good option is to put an advert on ebay as it captures thousands of people and hopefully someone will spot it.
  8. This is good advice. I found my springs will drop out my current dislocation cones on full articulation. Worth swopping before you get problems.
  9. Doing a good tidy job of that. Will look smart when finished.
  10. Is a shame when a site like this shuts. I have been to Foxham and Compton Basset. Compton is big and has several play areas but is hard going on your truck as it is all very very boggy when wet. There are some very deep water ways there aswell and nothing to warn you of depth so need to go careful. Foxham is good. It is small but has lots of different things to try and is all marked up warning of any dangers. Will be going to Minety on the 6th March.
  11. Did anyone manage to find out about this as I am also interested.
  12. wow, that is shocking. I have never seen a disc so worn! Must have a friendly mot tester.
  13. I am running terrafirma +5 on a 2" lift and standard prop. Havent had any problems so far. Using the terrafirma brackets with the +5. I have set my bumpstop to limit movement before it bottoms out on the shock!
  14. Will measure them when I am next home. I am currently working away for 3 weeks. When I measure them, if I find the passenger side to be longer then I clearly have them fitted to the wrong side. Thanks for all the advice. Will give it all a try once I am home.
  15. Yes all bushes are good and have minimal flex. It appears the springs should be labelled as to where they fit and are handed. Mine were not labelled so I just fitted them on. This does not account for the drop of the original spring unless it has yeilded whist I was winching. I think the first step is to remove both springs and see if there are any differences and swop them around as suggested.
  16. I have measured from the front bumper, the distance between the axle and chassis and also the angle the radius arm is at. Drivers side is definitely 2" lower. It is very noticable from standing and looking at the truck that it is sat lower.
  17. Are the springs handed? It does not explain why it dropped in the first place with the old spring setup but willing to give it a try if it is something you have experienced before?
  18. The springs I have from Terrafirma are the Medium rated springs which are rated for the extra weight I have added. It was also fine for 2 or 3 months with the standard Britpart springs and then suddenly dropped on the front drivers side. I think I have possible bent something but cannot see anything obvious. If the springs were not up to the job it should still sit level as its the same weight over the axle. Anyone had similar problems?
  19. Hello All. I am hoping some of you maybe able to help me or point me in the right direction. I have been using my defender 90 alot but recently added a rollcage, winch bumper and winch. I did not notice any difference to ride height and carried on attending pay and play events. Over the winter months the winch was used alot as I live in the countryside and many people were stuck after sliding into ditches on the ice. After all of this I noticed that the drivers side of my 90 is sat around 2" lower than the passenger side. After looking around and not finding anything looking damaged I decided to replace the springs and shocks as I do not think they were up to the job, Britpart springs and Pro comp shocks. I replaced the fronts on the weekend with Terrafirma hoping to see my 90 sit level after fitting them. Well....It didnt! I still have the same problem. I cannot see anything that looks out of place or bent. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? There is an even weight distribution on the truck so do not know where to look. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  20. I have only ever disconnected the battery and replaced rear cross member with custom built cross member, alot of welding involved. Also some patch repairs on chassis and fitment of a full roll cage. had no issues after re connecting the battery.
  21. I have just ditched my pro comps for terrafirma and has transformed my truck. I think they are a good price for what you are getting in comparison to the pro comp shocks.
  22. Personally I would do it once and then forget about it so buy a new one and then get it galved as above.
  23. I wonder how many people fall for these cons. Some people just have no idea. To most of us it seems stupidly obvious not to hand your car over to anyone but some people out there obviously dont think so. Sounds like he was a lucky bloke to get it back.
  24. I have always used Lancaster for my Defender. Just had a renenwal quote through for less than last year. I phoned them as I wanted to add extra's such as roll cage and winch bumper and they added it to the policy for the same price as last year which was 260. I also got a quote from Adrian Flux who said they would match this price so havent noticed any increases from them.
