  3. hi guys I am putting origional split doors back onto my 30 year old 110 and have got hold of a pair of wolf handles to fit, problem is they have locks but no keys and i need to put new barrels in them. is there a way to get the old barrels out wiyhout resorting to drilling. cheers guys.
  4. Thanks for all the info and suggestions guys.keep them coming. I will be at the Bristol snd west Landy show at the weekend so will be spotting suitable vehicles and chatting with owners.
  5. I am in Newark Nottinghamshire and when we travel we intend to circumnnavigate the world 80 % in the vehicle and 20% by local transport at the end of our trip Not planning to go for s few years yet but want to build vehicle to test out weekends two weeks and a month so we can getvit right to live in for 8-10 months.
  6. Thanks Mike I was originally thinking of a 110 and getting galv 130 chassis to suit 300 tdi.As far as the rolling chassis is concerned I am fine it is just the box at the back.was considering having roll cage incorporated within body.what are the requirements to keep vosa and plod happy when self building.
  7. Thanks but she still wants a Defender. We did look at an ex mod media wagon last year and with a few mods like adding a bit to the back and front whilst keeping the approach and escape angles. Other options are 101 ambulance bit these are very rare.
  8. Hi guys had my 200 tdi disco1 three door 1993 for 4years now.lots of blood sweat and tears not to mention bank balance depletion. Last year nearly fell down whem MOT man gives me pass certificate with nil advisories. Still a bit scruffy and has covered 237000miles on origional engine.would I get rid NO.
  9. Hi I am in the process of planning an overland build I would be happy with bolt on back end to a defender 130 but swmbo wants high sleeper over cab access to cabin from drivers position, toilet and shower, kitchen and seating area I am fairly proficient with mig, tig and plasma so thinking of making my own back end to graft onto cab. Still in planning stage at moment so any thoughts, comments or guidence would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Shame tthe scrotes were not still in it when it burned. Hope it gets sorted soon though keep us posted.
  11. would have been better if it had been a jaguar, that would be a great product advert.
  12. Sorry to hear about that , I hope you manage the snow and get back into a disco soon. Don't let the scumbags win. If any scumbag tries to steal ours I think I could catch up with them on my pushbike, just for grins we did a 0-60 test and achieved a blinding 26.7 seconds .
  13. The snow has arrived and I have just had to tow a 2011 mazda out of snow with my awesome (well I think so anyway )standard, tatty 18 year old, 218000 mile disco 1. Oh the joys of owning a Land Rover.
  14. We had our renewal from NFU and it was a 75% rise, after getting up off the floor, gave them a call and asked why they have hiked up the price by 75% AND HOW THEY HAD THE GALL TO OFFER ME A 7% LOYALTY DISCOUNT. Sorry for shouting but it really got me thinking about who to go with. Excuse I got was the market prices increasing also the amount of Landrovers being stolen, to which I had to explain to them that our landy had not been stolen, damaged or in any way altered. they then offered me a further reduction of 2%. that was as far as the conversation went. got off the phone and on to planet google to look for affordable insurance, Tesco's was the best price at £210 fully comp and they also offered a breakdown service for £25 extra provided the vehicle is less than 10 years old.
