Yes it was a very good time, we do not take it as much as competition as we do only do the driving part off it not all the "boyscout" tasks ie rappelling cooking food for marchals and so on, but it is a great nature to explore there are so many beautiful places to watch while one is on the move and the intensity at nigth time while doing punches in the dark woods is breathaking. More muddy punches to do. Eventhough a Snorkle fitted what does it help when you lean on it adainst the bank watch the black mud on the righthand side on the windscreen ups ups no good as you will see below. White smoke!! we are runing on water, bugger bugger...... Good, one are running K&N, a paper filter would newer have survived this, after two hours digging mud out and a quick wash for the filter in one off the Trangia pots we are ready to go again. Due to the properties off the K&N only a bit off water got through, it saved the engine Next day a bit more fetling to keep it going We came to have a good time and ended in fourth place in our class A Adventure Jannik and Peter got third so it does not take a tricked up coiler to make good results the old leafers does still hang in. After almost 700km the Polish Boarder is close. Last propper meal ( schnitsel) before we go on survival food. Fueling up before the "race" not that it is a race but for us it is 300km of roadbook on unpaved roads an exelent way to train building speed up going by roadbook. Uhu next morning !!! not strange that it was a bit cold to slep in the van -5 during the night. We are on the move first small water crossing. there will be meny more on the move. Crossing is no prob with a good recon to avoid the "traps" with to deep water. Small pudle to be crossed co pilot quick figured to attach rope to the guy in front so the mud splassing is minimised.

Hi I am in the proces of building a Salisbury rear axle and shaving is on the agenda, I have had the same thoughts about the casing and have also read that one can only stretch it a certain times before it is bust.......But having read a lot on Pirate and Outerlimit about how people do the shaving on Dana 60's, and not found anything re preload complications, so I will just go a head and get the job done, it can not be that complicated. I hope to start a tread under members vehicles covering the build.

The reason why is, because I am using a LT95 from a 101" which with 3.54 gives me way to high a top speed, and as far as I know the std shafts in sal's are as strong as many upgrade ones (correct me if I am wrong) both axles are on the shelf free to use! the locker I can get at the same price as a rover one, weight wise I can not do much clearense wise 1" shaving should be posible or close to and I am not that woried about that. And the pto driven winch will pull us through with no problem. Tyre will be 34"-35" And least but not last for the front axle, 4,75 reversecut cryo and al that and with ARB, is on the shelf free to use. Hope it makes sense, we are building cheap and with as much reliablity as possible for the money and work invested, in an attempt to finish not win

Hi Folks Being in the proces off materialise a wapour build I have some thoughts about changing the ratio in a 110" rear sal from 3,54 to 4,7 using components from a series sal. Quiestion is then is it duable and if is there anything that I have to look for, in the same go I will fit some sort of locker.

Hello I am about to build a new truck and the engine is probably going to be a 4jb1, but I am missing one info that I have not been able to find either here or elsewhere and that is the max rpm. I know max power is at 3600rpm but to my knowledge that is not the same as the engine can not have a max at ie 4000 or even higher I am thinking off the value where the fuelpump cuts out, and I have used the search button with no result... That is a real collectors item, would be a shame to use on anything other than an RRC, I have no idea re the price, but think it would fetch quite a reasonal sum on Fleabay worldwide not just the UK, there might be som chaps in US who would break a leg to get their hands on such thing, amongst others. The Material (4340)that Seriestrek uses are not as strong as the Hituff MD used to use and that I am told the new owner off the MD shats business uses. At least that is what i found out. But when he does not want to ship outside US it really does not matter!! And the price approx 1000£ I will guestimate that Robotman's solution has cost 2/3 off that if not less Regards Ole

Hi Folks I am running GBR stuf in the front and has only broken a UJ yet, shafts (24spline) are or were made by MD I do not know who makes shafts for GBR now. Series trek will not ship outside US, but it is not a problem because from my investigation from when I was in the market for upgrading parts I found out that his solution is not any as strong as the GBR one. To day there are and even stronger solution but it is not straight forward it includes a bit off machining Robotman from here has done what I also have planed to upgrade to when my GBR stuff break if it does??!! Hi Reggie I have used a bathroom scale and did as below, acctually the workshop now posseses one cooking scale, one bathroom scale and a postal scale for the nitty-gritty bits, as we are car weight watchers not body weight watchers Placed the one end off the chassis on axlestands as close to the end as possible and the other end did rest on a thick playwood piese then I read the scale noted it, did the same in the other end added the two figures and then you have an approx weight close enough for my purpose and I guess also for yours. regards Ole
