any suggestions for footwear for this round? rugby boots, football boots, walking boots?
discovered last time out that walking boots dont work well in waist deep clay carp........
also matt....... my names wrong on the entry list again
we have found that the ceramic coated flap discs last about 3/4 times longer then the normal ones, they do however cost a couple of quid more per discs,
Big thanks to matt & his team for the putting on the event & running it on sunday, was a first time for us at that site & also competing with the clubman challenge, really enjoyed ourselves & looking forward to the next one......
Mike (team 17)
does anyone have any pics of us doing punch 2? would be good to see what it looked like from a different angle
well... part didnt turn up so had to unconvert from 24v over 12 back to 12v winch system.....but just gonna put it on the trailer now n thats my part done.... well till sunday......ill be easy to spot, ill be running about out of breath
We "should" be there on sat afternoon evening, all going well if the bits turn up from suppliers in time, still got a bit of wiring to do on the car im bitching in/for so wee shall see
Slightly OT,
V8 bobber you werent driving through haverfordwest towards the mcdonalds roundabout about 5 ish on sunday? might have been yourself i spotted on sunday
what winch motors are you using?
im using Xps & so far havent had to double line atall since fitting the +40s,
It quite happily lifts the front end of my 90 straight up off the ground as was required @ the muddys to reach the punches.
On mine i am using 70mm2 cable throughout for the front winch with 2x pc1500 batterys with 2x 140A alternators charging them
much faster
under load the wheel speed to winch line speed (single line) was matched on 3.5 diffs & 35" simex, have now gone to the air freespool which im planning on upping the gear ratio again in the near future so might have a set of plus 40's available, have only done 2 events
i had standard gearing in mine & i am running xp motors aswell, have gone to +40s when i still had my standard bottom housing & it transformed the winch, soo much faster
ref whitbread offroad doing quick release mounts, the prototypes arrived yesterday from the laser cutters & are currently WIP, as soon as they have mounts available to suit a 90 i will post up
